1982 and 1983 Montana State football videos...and an added bonus video.

Rico Cat sent me some great DVDs that I've gone ahead and digitized. I'll put the videos up on YouTube over the next few days. I have to edit out some stuff first. The videos include the 1982 Idaho State game, Weber State game, and a season highlight video. There are also three coaches show's from 1983 with highlights of each game they played that week. As an added bonus, there is an ESPN special on the WWII Golden Bobcats. Oh, on one of the coaches show videos, there's an interview with Bill Kollar. Bill is back at MSU to finish up his degree, after his playing career ended, and helping coach the Cats. Bill talks about wanting to get into coaching.
First up, this 1983 coaches show, post Eastern Washington game. I actually remember the theme music from this show, but not the content. When I was a kid, I used to watch both the Cat coaches show and the gris coaches show every week. I remember entering a gris trivia contest one week, that was on their coaches show, and I actually won the contest. Anyway, the gris were supposed to send me a t-shirt as my prize, but it never arrived. I've hated them ever since. I couldn't imagine wearing a gris shirt now though.
Speaking of trivia. The narrator on these coaches show videos is Jack Womack. Jack was a family friend and became a Senior VP at CNN, until his retirement about a year ago.

1982 Montana State football highlight video. I went ahead and edited out the streaker. You really can't see any of the streakers frontal stuff, but I didn't want someone to report me to YouTube for having male nudity on a video and I don't have time right now to edit some shorts on him. Anyway, enjoy the video.

This was my graduation semester!! Can't say I really remember many of these games, although I'm sure I attended them all.

Who was number 9 for volleyball? The redhead.
I have no idea. I checked out the yearbook and there is no team photo. You'd have to do the research on that one.

Worked on the coaches show for three years in the early 90's with Bruce. Golf at Riverside, games, road trips, BBQ's at Lisa and Big B's. He was just one of those guys you feel lucky to be friends with. I miss my friend.

1982 Montana State versus Weber State.
Man, this video took almost nine hours to upload. Crazy.
I have a couple more vids to post, but they will have to wait until the weekend.

Or, if you find out who she is and locate a current photo of her, you could start a "Granny hotties" thread.

Were you the streaker?
Nope but I remember that game!!
As I recall, the streaker and his, um, thing, were immortalized in the Exponent.

And on a full page in the yearbook, and on this video, but I deleted it…..the streak that is…not his, uh, thing.

Another video that took all day to upload. Anyway, fun game to watch. Three overtime thriller.

Awesome game, thanks for posting it! This was the season after Idaho State won the National Championship, but they fell all the way back to last place in the Big Sky in '82. MSU also had quite the roller coaster, from Big Sky co-champs in '82 to 1-10 in '83 to National Champions in '84 and back to 2-9 in '85. Guess there weren't any Northern Colorado-type teams back then you could beat up on every year.

Yeah, they did a kind of Bobcat thing, winning the Championship and then falling off quite a bit the next season. I know the Cats had a lot of injuries in 1985 that wreaked havoc on the team. I'm guessing Idaho State went through something similar. Oh, RicoCat is really responsible for saving these videos. I just posted them.

ESPN special honoring the 1941 and pre-1941 Montana State football teams that lost 14 members in military service during WWII.
That's it for the RicoCat videos. I hope you all enjoyed watching them,
