Many of you probably know more info but I thought I would share what I know:
I talked to Tommy's agent tonight: He is in San Diego training for NFL Pro day. He is rooming with Russ Reimer. He has a speed coach, a passing coach and they have him practicing fielding punts. His agent said there is plenty of interest from the CFL but he and Tommy have there sights set on the NFL, His agent had a conversation with Denver about Tommy. They see him in a role similar to Taysom Hill from the Saints. Now this is all just talk at this point but his agent was confident in his ability to make the league.

Thanks Gary. What do you think Tommy plays in the NFL? QB? Slot? Seems smart they are having him practice punt returns.

Interesting about the Taysom Hill comparison - Hill is used as an H back, TE & QB
I could see Tommy as a Julian Edelman type in the NFL - return specialist, inside receiver, specialty RB - Edelman's QB college career is similar to Tommy's, but Tommy had better numbers.
Will be fun watching Tommy's pro day numbers - could be eye-popping

This would be seriously a dream scenario!!

@gtapp When you say he is "training for NFL Pro day", does that mean the pro day at MSU or is there a different "Pro day" that is a variety of schools, similar to the combine?

Who's his agent?
Chris Murry! Different Chris Murry. Chris lives in MN and was Bobby Hauck's roommate at the U of M. He represents many of the griz and some of the Bobcats each year.

I assumed it was the MSU Pro Day. I guess there is a chance he gets an invite to the combine like Troy did.

A coach like Sean Payton will be able to see through the growing pains of transitioning to receiver while also finding ways to utilize Tommy's immense talent in other areas. I could also see the Bears, Lions, Rams and 49ers (although 49ers current roster construction is not really open to bringing in Tommy) being great landing spots.

Considering he hasn’t been invited to any of the bowl games that I’m aware of, the combine seems unlikely.

I think Ryan Weese is still in the Bears scouting department. With a reputed offensive genius in charge there now, agree it's a place to watch.

I like him at RB. His best trait is his ability to run the ball. Learning to run an NFL route tree is more difficult mentally and technically than anything a RB has to do, and Tommy would be starting from zero. I don't have any doubts about his ability to learn the mental aspect of playing WR, but plenty of guys who play WR in college for four years and are stars, who have great measurables, can't get open in the NFL.
We also don't know anything about Tommy's hands.
Regardless of what position Tommy is listed at on the roster, his play on special teams will be the biggest factor in whether he makes an NFL team. In that way his career will be a lot like Taysom Hill.

If you are able and would like to support his training, the Bobcat Collective is still taking donations to fund both his coaching and housing needs while he’s in CA.

what would be great is a commitment from Tommy that if he makes a roster, he matches that support to the Bobcat collective.

Any chance of Tommy getting an invitation to the NFL Combine? I think he would blow away some teams with his both athleticism and during interviews.

There were some questions last year about donating money to help these former college athletes with their training after college. I did check with the MSU compliance office and, yes, it's completely fine donating money to help with this training.
