I'm guessing since the griz are doing it, it makes sense for MSU to as well. Keeps things more even. NDSU, if it's true that their collective has a $6 million coffer, doesn't feel they need it.

Victor Flores posted a story about it with an interview with Costello, but it's behind a paywall so we'll never know what it says 
But if anyone has read anything about what this actually means I'd be very interested, seems like an interesting decision but I definitely trust Leon's judgement.

Kent Haslam at Montana has said a few times that Montana is not going to opt in right away.
