On Sam Herders podcast he interviewed an NDSU podcaster/ media guy. Apparently he has a source that indicated that MSU is set to get a big gift donation that would be a game changer for the program. He speculated that this was a big part of why Vigen decided to stay? Any one else hear of anything?
I left a link to the podcast. He starts talking about it a little before the 38 minute mark…

Mike KcFeely needs lose his Press credentials. There isn't bigger tool in the media. Not saying he's wrong but this guys takes are worth what my dogs do when i take them on walks. It honestly makes me sad that Herder gives him a platform when he could get Dom Izzo who is much better.

I've heard very vague rumblings of a "big announcement" after the season but that's all I know

Its the first time I listened to him and agree that he is a little bit all over the place. I would normally dismiss as hearsay, but Vigen seemingly being the front runner at WSU and then signing an extension seems to give this rumor some possibility of being true.

Just rumors. This literally could be started from one person posting a made up rumor.

How would a big donation affect Vigens reasoning for staying? Is the donation going to coaches salaries? I doubt it. If the donation is going to stadium improvements, that’s awesome, but how would that have any influence on Vigens reasoning for staying? Is the donation going to something else…NIL?

I don’t know, but Gregorak hinted at something multiple times this season on Colter’s podcast.

Nope, new seatbacks on the west side!

To me it would almost have to be an imminent FBS move that would also come with greatly increased funding for the program and coaches' salaries as part of that. The facilities are now FBS level with the BAC and IPF so if this rumor is legit it has to go beyond simply additional stadium improvements.

Is there any rumor of um announcing a big funding increase too for a big move up or do they already have the money?

No clue, and that's why I'm skeptical of the idea that there's some big announcement coming that directly led to Vigen turning down Fresno and/or WSU. Stadium improvements on their own wouldn't really move the needle to entice a coach to stay, that's way more of a fan thing.

Bobcat Stadium is not FBS level. At least not for the MW or PAC2.

There are two current Mountain West stadiums (SJSU and Hawaii) that have a lower capacity than Bobcat Stadium. I see nothing about the current stadium that would prevent MSU from being on par with most other stadiums and overall facilities in that conference as it will be structured in 2026.

I’ve had a feeling for about a month now that the NDSU rumor to the MW was true but they are waiting until after the playoffs to announce. I think MSU goes with. I don’t like it, I enjoy the playoffs but I think both move up and start transitioning this off season

Aren’t rumors fun? If it’s anything like my work everyone already knows before it’s officially announced.
