The conversation about Idahos onside kick got me thinking about a couple things. Im not so sure the timing was that awful. IF that ball goes ten yards they had a chance to grab it. And two, MSU made the defensive adjustments from that point forward. Idaho wouldn't have had an opportunity to onside a kick until very late in the fourth quarter.

When you guys said that the Bobcats haven’t had to make a game winning drive in the 4th quarter this year you obviously have forgotten the game at New Mexico.

#6 seemed to slow down alot after Grebe caught him from behind and kinda crushed him, on a catch in the middle. I can't remember when that happened exactly, maybe 3rd qtr.

The most important thing to know about USD is they’re very physical, like SDSU and NDSU. MSU is very physical too. It’s going to be interesting to see how MSU stacks up in that area Saturday. UC Davis struggled with it early on, but shortened Hastings' drop backs and the receivers' routes to offset the pass rush. UC Davis's game vs MSU was similar as the Bobcats sacked Hastings twice on the Aggies' first possession of the game. Very difficult to say who has the edge.

Both teams have multiple 1,000-yard rushers and can pass the ball, including TEs that are first team all-conference players. Both teams have very good defenses. The biggest difference is their QB Bouman doesn't run whereas Mellott is a prolific runner. That's an edge for MSU.

SDSU is 49th in pass efficiency defense. MSU is 15th. (Despite getting 8 interceptions vs Tarleton/Davis, USD still allowed 156.5 passer rating as those teams combined for a 74.7 completion percentage and got about 9.0 yards per attempt; SDSU also faced Miller, Gronowski and the UW QB. They were a combined 49-76-0, 551, 2tds (134.1)).

MSU is 34th in run defense. SDSU is 9th.
(it's hard to say how much, but these numbers (pass defense efficiency and yards per carry) are probably skewed due to pulling starters early; USD around six times, MSU around 10 times; USD held Wisconsin, NDSU and SDSU to 4.2, 3.5 and 3.8 yards per carry, respectively. The consistency here is impressive. If they can maintain that, then it's an edge for the Coyotes).

I think Tarleton and Davis would've had great chances to win on the road vs USD had it not been for all the interceptions. Mellott is probably going to have to throw the ball more often in this game, so his accuracy is going to be paramount.
