How original. Another major award goes to an Alabama player…..
Well, he isn’t thinking about playoff football.

Interesting that of the 16 finalists, there were only three engineering majors, all Mechanical Engineering, and none of the three is an FBS player. One Carnegie-Mellon (NCAA D-III), and two FCS players were the engineering majors — Brody Grebe of MSU and Mark Gronowski of SDSU. Pretty classy representation. Congratulations to all three.
Sounds like scholars were seriously under-represented. I hope FCS football lives on for a long time. Otherwise I might have to become a Carnegie-Mellon fan.

Pretty awesome for Brody to get recognized and receive $18,000 postgraduate scholarship!
Unfortunate that Brody and Vigen needed to travel mid week to Vegas for the ceremony while we are still preparing for playoff football.

He cleaned up nicely! Way to represent Montana, love the black cowboy hat with the tux, classic! Scholarship is great, obviously would have been nice to win the award, but even to make it as a finalist is a big deal. Congrats to Brody!
Time to shift focus to Friday night!!

Hopefully someone was kind enough to charter them down and back same day.

I remember hearing when Troy was a finalist that they had someone donate their private plane for the trip down and back.

i bet there is a farmer or two over by Melstone with a plane. i knew a rancher that did in the 70's that had one over by there and he used it to check on his herd and to check for assholes during hunting season. he was tired of shots missing speed goats and hitting his house.

A private aircraft departing from Vegas arrived in Bozeman at about 1:30 this morning. Pretty cool experience to get to wear a cowboy hat to an awards ceremony and fly there on a private airplane too!

That’s a PC12, one of the coolest single prop airplanes. Owner is definitely a large booster. I’m sure they didn’t do it for the notoriety though.

Watched the whole thing - loved Brody showing up in the cowboy hat! Way to represent Montana!
My first thought was how cool was it for him to be surrounded by all those college & NFL legends that were in the room that night. And to have Bill Kolar there was just awesome. Congrats Brody!!

My guess is the Campbell Trophy program pays for all the logistics, which would include the private plane. Just a hunch.
