Today begins the end of a full circle journey for Touchdown Tommy as the Cats starting QB, and the seniors who have continued the winning ways in the newest era of Bobcat football. The first ever start for Tommy 4 years ago this weekend against the same foe we face today. The last first start of a playoff push. The legacy being written still has four games worth of pen on paper, tapping on a phone, typing on a keyboard.

We've said a lot the last two weeks, and yet as some have mentioned, we've also said very little the past few days. We've seen a program transform into a perennial contender, and we seem to feel something about to happen. Almost like the calm before a storm.

We've celebrated another beautiful beatdown, eaten so much we had to loosen our belts, and waited for the Skyvawks of UT Martin to arrive in Bozeman. The storm hits soon. The dam that is the Montana State Bobcats is about to break upon the FCS. The drive to a national championship begins in earnest at 1 PM inside Bobcat Stadium.

Here we go for 1-0, 13-0.

I think one of the biggest intangibles today is that Mellott ^started^ his rockstar career against UTM in this very same second round game. You have to believe that UTM wants to ^end^ that today and that Mellott wants to show them it was just a ^little taste^ of what he's capable of doing.

What's the over/under on attendance today? Last time they played there was 15,327. I think they only count paid attendance for playoff games, so players, concessions, etc. probably don't get counted. I'm thinking there will be around 16,500. There's quite a bit more excitement about this team vs. the 2021 team. The weather is better (40mph winds last time).

Don't forget to go watch the hockey team beat the gris tonight.

No need for profanity

There has been some discussion this past week from Cat fans who predict we are going to beat UT-Martin by at least 2 touchdowns. I sure hope so, but I haven't seen anyone mention that UT-Martin is currently 5th in the nation in Rushing Defense (avg 85 yds./game), 3rd in Passes Intercepted (19), and 8th in 3rd Down Conversion Percentage Defense (29.5%). I hope we have a game plan that considers these statistics. I think we have played very wisely this year with respect to this and other aspects that have accounted for injury management, long term vision, and development of the entire team. Go CATS!
