Knew this would be the case. The hard on the media has for NDSU is insane.

Let this garbage be bulletin board material now and a big motivator for Adam himself. Not that he needs it. What else did he need to do to overcome the Bizon bias?

I would have loved Adam to win it but was it really bias? Looks like Brown led in about every statistical category?

Its absolute crap. I think the Payton is probably the same as well. Now I either want ACU to send em packing this week but if they don't, meet them in Frisco and finally beat their A$$e$. And beat em good.

As long as Adam keeps doing what Adam does, we're fine. A championship ring has a much prettier glow than an award....

I think the sentiment is that Adam Jones had limited touches and produced more with the touches he did get.

I actually expect Cam to win the Peyton award for the same reasons, hoping that Tommy and Adam will be able to settle it on the field a few days later.

Brown was NDSU's lead back. He had 189 carries to Jones's 125 but only had 57 more yards rushing. Adam averaged 7.3 per carry to Brown's 5.1. All the statistics were in Adam's favor.

Brown: 965 rush yards, 14 TDs, 5.1 YPC, 54 receiving yards, 0 receiving TDs
Jones: 908 rush yards, 9 TDs, 7.3 YPC, 150 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD
So Brown had more TDs and rushing yards but Adam had a better YPC and more total yards if receiving is factored in. Adam may have been hurt by having his best game of the year right at the end when some voters could have already made up their minds. The statistical gap between the two was much greater around mid-season when Scottre was racking up the stats and Adam wasn't getting a ton of touches.

Jones clearly the better choice. Rank NDSU bias.

@Prodigal Cat is right, compare the attempts, and the stats from that, and it tells you everything you need to know. Now, I am no conspiracy theorist, but dang, I feel they couldn't have a Rice and a Payton award winner from the same team...??

Of course they can, and likely will. I guarantee that Adam and Tommy won't care though, their focus lies elsewhere than winning individual awards.

Devil’s advocate here. Adam started out incredibly hot early in the non-conference schedule. His production wained quite a bit through conference, although still stayed a very important cog in the offensive machine. But he wasn’t getting all the attention. Scottre was. Then he had a huge Cat/gris game. So most of the voters minds were probably made up prior to the last weekend. I can see a very genuine way that the NDSU guy got it. His name was at the top of his team’s stat sheet through the bulk of the season.
When your #2 back for the season is voted as the 2nd best freshman in the country, your team is doing some great things.

I gave up on these awards after Troy got hosed for the Buck...too much regional bias.

They have a separate HBCU award now so they don't have to pick an HBCU player/coach as a regular award winner each year.

That was a big problem his year. The guy that won had good stats but in a weaker conference.
