Where each of the drives ended for UM:

- UM 42 (Punt)
- MSU 31 (Field Goal)
- UM 41 (Punt)
- UM 19 (Punt)
- MSU 44 (Downs)
- MSU 49 (Punt - got it to the MSU 38 but penalties pushed them back)
- UM 22 (Punt)
- MSU 48 (started on UM 45 as this was possession after we failed on 4th)
- MSU 0 (Touchdown)
- UM 26 (Punt)

UM went past MSU's 30 yard line once and it was on their lone touchdown drive which was surprisingly in the worst weather. Fife made some great plays on that drive. It truly was a legendary performance as no turnovers were forced.

One thing, there has been a lot of talk about this being THE YEAR for the Cats mostly due to the class of seniors. Rightfully so.
Valdez portals, Schmidt gets hurt at ISU, Danny U gets hurt vs Idaho, Brody got hurt about a qtr in, from that point an the only Senior in the front 7 was O'Reilly. We've really had some underclass players step up and next year won't be rebuilding, Cats will be reloading.

I was thinking about this today. We have an incredible class for leadership this year, who do we have for Juniors to step in next year?
Looking at the roster, Polidore, Eiden, and Brott jump out on defense, not too many Junior's on Offense but Rohan Jones sticks out, maybe Alexander/King, Julius Davis if he plays another year, but certainly a bit sparse compared to the strong group we have this year, but we do appear to be stacked right behind them with current sophomores.

The defense had that freezing rain hitting them in the face on that series and I think it made a difference in trying to read plays

I remember being frustrated at the game thinking the frizzz were moving the ball well then realizing that it was deep into the 3rd quarter and they had 134 yards.

Sorry to fact check you on this kwcat but the worst of the wind and sleet was at the beginning of the 4th when the Griz were headed into the north end zone. They were on the 48 at the beginning of the 4th and I was giddy happy that they were going to have to drive into that wind and sleet.
It is quite impressive that they completed 4 of 6 passes on that drive and scored.

I thought win the win in freezing rain really hit hard it came out of the southwest and Missoula was headed to the north east end zone. Thanks for pointing it out I’ll have to check it out.
Seem like several times I saw our secondary struggling and wanting to cover their faces

Honestly the wind changed direction so many times that day it was hard to keep track of where it was from at any given part of the game.

So the Griz started that drive with about 2 minutes left in the 3rd and had the wind at their back so yeah the Bobcat defense was having to deal with a very hard wind in their face for a while.

Did we have more than 2? I know there was the one with Paul Brott. Kenny Eiden and Crews teamed up for one. We were in the backfield all game long, but I think those were the only two sacks.

Those are the 2 I remember. I just wasn’t sure if I was forgetting any. Thanks.

Yeah I'm pretty sure we only got 2 sacks but fairly sure we had about 5 hurries and some of those came with good QB hits and knockdown to the ground plays. Defense also knocked down some passes at the line of scrimmage, Eiden had 2 of those I think.

Box score shows two sacks. One for Paul Brott, and then Kenny Eiden and Zac Crews each got a half sack on that one.

Thanks for that link. I was only looking at espn, I know where to look next time.

One of the most impressive things I saw was when Ortt and O’Reilly rushed together. O’Reilly changed the angle of his attack so that he would pressure Fife’s throwing lane. That was one reason the pass had to go high and went over the receiver’s head.

I don't know anything about anything when it comes to blitzing schemes but that one seemed risky to me... and we did it several times. Seems like taking two defenders out of the picture there could be dangerous, especially the way I've seen Fife play at times, and with those good Griz receivers. I guess if you're gonna do that you better be sure you're getting home or damn close to it.

They'd put him on his butt so many times that day that by that time, he had a really quick trigger. Those Zero blitzes came later in the game and were very effective.
