The last regular season bye is in the books. The final push for a Thanksgiving bye and a top seed 2 begins Saturday! The bye comes at a great time considering even some of the 2s have been banged up. An extra week for Bryce Grebe, Adam Jones, Ty McCullouch, Julius Davis, Justus Perkins and others has to have been a great thing.

Lots of questions going into this week, mainly who plays and how much? With Scottre and Jones playing so well, how much will Davis play? 15 snaps, 20? 5 touches, 10? Is Perkins ready to play and if so does he even play, or does he wait until December and take a medical redshirt barring other injuries on the OL?

As for the game, it should be a lot more of the same. Eastern has a poor D and a decent offense. Both things the Cats have dominated against this year. Eastern is 108th in rush D and give up 5.74 YPC. Not good for them. Even if they load the box, the passing game has taken a step forward this year and will doom them.

Defensively this should be a game comparable to Idaho State. It doesn't really matter which QB is playing, or if they both play. Visperas is a good QB, but the EWU passing game is nothing like it used to be. EWU likes to run more these days, but our run D has been solid. Containing Altahir and Chism will be the main goal.

Cats should win easily, but the red turf can be weird.

Without doing any research at all it feels like it's been years since we didn't have at least one very difficult road game against a (on paper) lesser team. Throw in the red turf and EWU's history of explosive offense and I think this is that game. Cats don't play well but survive 31-28.

Ewu will score a few times but with how bad their run defense is, I'll be surprised if the Cats punt more than once or twice in this game. As long as we don't turn it over we will win going away.

I don’t think what the “gris” did has any affect on how we’re going to or should do. Not sure why you’re using them to guide your prediction.

I don’t think their defense has a chance at slowing down the offense but the Eagles should get some yards and points through the air later in the game against the 2s and 3s.

There is one team, believe it or not, I despise more than the Griz and it’s EWU under Best. Won’t predict, but hope for a blowout

I have watched many tough losses in person in Cheney. At one it was so bad I skipped going to the game and watched it on TV. This year I’m finally not nervous. Hopefully the bye week doesn’t affect our focus. I don’t think it will. Second string gives up some points, but the game is never in doubt.
