Did they just update it this one time? Seems like he should’ve been on it sooner.

This is the first iteration of the watch list, which makes sense I guess when it's an award for players in their first (full) season of play.

Did anyone ever figure out why he didn't play against PSU? Some people reported he was dressed out on the sidelines but didn't play? Was that true?

Yes, you could see him dressed out on the sidelines during the game. I'm not sure if you can see him on the high lites, but I know he was there during the broadcast. Since he was dressed out in full uni and pads, I'm guessing any injury he has wasn't serious. The week before there was a play I think a pass, he cut back inside and was tackled from behind and got up gingerly. Can't remember if was back in after that. But might be pmay was hurt on

With the return of Davis I think it’s going to be tough for Adam to win this award.

He definitely won't win the award based on stats, it will likely go to NDSU's freshman RB CharMar Brown who has emerged as their starting RB. Still a great honor to be on the watch list though!
