Can’t say that I keep up with enough FCS to know what freshman are really in the running but I’ve got to imagine Adam Jones has a chaance.

I was originally going to say that not being the #1 back would prevent Adam from winning, but after looking at the stats you may be right. He is the top freshman in FCS so far (27th overall) in rushing yards although NDSU has a guy with 30 fewer rushing yards but one more TD. The best freshman QB is a guy from Dayton averaging around 245 pass yards per game and the best freshman WR plays for Idaho but is only 47th in receiving yards overall. Another question would be what will the impact be on Adam's usage once Julius Davis returns.

I wonder if there are any defensive guys that have a real shot. Looks like Jayden Robinson for SUU has 4 int but outside of that no freshman stick out looking through defensive stats. Another guy we will see on the list is AhYat
