Week 6 - Rushing Over/Under vs UNCU

The flying clipboards come to town looking like they would get mercy ruled by Rocky.
Vigen will work on passing a lot in the first half I suspect but runs will be for lots of yards. I expect at least 4 over 40 yards.
With all the passing, I am going a little low on the rushing expectation.
377 rushing O/U. What say you?

Under. We may run for 200 in the first half, but with the 2s and 3s in midway through the 3rd I don't think we get that number.

I get what you're saying, but didn't Coon get 100 yards just in the 4th quarter vs Mercyhurst?

I'll go under. That would be our highest rushing total to date. Our lowest was against Mercyhurst. Simply because NCU is so bad and I envision 3rd and 4th string playing a lot, I like us getting about 270 on the ground Saturday.

Depends. If the Bears decide to play clean, Vigen let's up on the gas in the second half and we only rush for 275. Grebe takes another knee to head and we score 70 points with 500 yards rushing...

I agree under.
I politely disagree with your reasoning. I think the pass game gets a few big plays and therefore the run game won’t get those yards. If/when, probably when, Wilson gets in he will make a few throws too. I also think teams are adjusting to Tommy not running so they’re able to slow down the run game early. I think the best chance to get over is if the 2s and 3s bust some long plays.

Going to go with the under. I think the Cats are going to keep working on the passing game. Going to need that part of the game next week against Idaho.

I say under. UNC is bad, but they're not Maine or Mercyhurst. They almost beat Abilene Christian...they've just been super unlucky especially offensively. We will have an easy time beating them soundly but we won't likely break off runs like we did against Maine.

UNC is 111th in rush D this year. Maine is 83rd. Eastern is 101st for what it's worth.

I suspect 2s and 3s will bust some long runs. I thinking the passing in first 1/2 will likely keep us under but wanted to try to get some on both sides.

I agree with the take on Tommy. He’s a headache if you think he’s going to run, whether he does or not. So if he’s running less, why don’t we use a really radical offense and put two RBs in at once and use one less WR? Or give Scottre or Adam a fullback? I guess having grown up on the ‘Cats I-formation, when I see a single RB and pretty well know he’s getting the ball, the backfield just looks pretty lonesome.

While I agree the rushing production goes down, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Coon or someone else break away from the pack for one or more long scoring runs.
