Hate to hear that. Rough news.
Coach Sean Peyton: "First off....Nate Singleton will be placed...."
WTF? Am I missing something here?

I'm so disappointed! Alex was one of my favorite players for the Cats ever and to see him climb up the rungs and actually get to play for my favorite NFL team was a thrill! This really sucks for him after all that hard work.

Crazy how many snaps he played after the injury. Played the game on a torn ACL and didn’t know until after it.
Tough guy, but we already all knew it.

Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings

Awful news. Hopefully the fact that he played on it so much and so well after the initial injury means that it’s an easier tear to recover from if there is such a thing. And hopefully continuing to play on it didn’t make it worse.

Re: Singleton out for season
Tough break for an absolute warrior.
He's in the last year of his deal next year, and he's got no guaranteed money next year outside of his signing bonus (1.3 Million hit next year). His base salary is $5.5 Million next year, which isn't outrageous but might be a bit rich for a 30something coming off ACL surgery.
But he seems very popular with the team and showed that he is a super-tough guy. My bet is that they re-work his deal for a couple more years and give him a lower base salary next year, but with a slightly higher guarantee with bonuses that will be very likely to be earned assuming he sticks on the roster and gets significant playing time.
The good news for Singleton is that it happened early enough in the season that he has a good chance of being ready for fall camp next year.
Alex's agent did a good job for him in the last contract-- got him a good number with enough guaranteed in year 2 that it would be difficult to cut him if he did a solid job (which he did). Hopefully, he can do something similar this time.

Re: Singleton out for season
I am re-posting this from above because I am a big Alex Singleton fan:
"Alex Singleton did not realize that he had torn his ACL, so he stayed in the game and played the remaining 49 defensive snaps. Coach Sean Payton told the press that "it was kind of remarkable" that he was able to do that."
