Even if they were equal it seems like having Chance be the 2 is a no brainer.
He's more in the Tommy mold as a dual threat QB so the offense should be able to function the same if he's in there instead of adapting to the more drop back passer that Jordan is.
While very limited Reed has had snaps in games and just hasn't flashed. Chance had an incompletion against Maine that was more impressive than anything I saw with Reed.
He's a redshirt freshman so he has more eligibility if he develops.
I do agree that Cats should bring in a transfer and between whoever that is, Chance, River Warren (and maybe the Florence kid develops), have a QB competition next year.

They aren't equal though and it showed in game. Chance is more ready the Jordan is.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 12:35 pmEven if they were equal it seems like having Chance be the 2 is a no brainer.

I thought the offense with Chance just looked a lot more like the Bobcat offense we expect. With Reed it looked more like a round peg in a square hole, it fit but it wasn't right. I think Reed could be a very good QB in a prostyle system.

Yeah, I feel like it's not that Reed is a bad QB but he's never going to be a great fit for the system MSU wants to run. Just look at Casey Bauman, it didn't work out for him at MSU but he transferred out, was very successful, and ended up in an NFL camp this summer.

Did they recruit Grant Vigen as a QB?Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 12:35 pmEven if they were equal it seems like having Chance be the 2 is a no brainer.

Watching the replay on Wilson’s TD, it looked like Reed was the first one off the sideline to congratulate him. There are 3 wearing #12 this season, so I could be wrong but I don’t think I am.

I see Hall is 3 pounds heavier when he kicks off than he is when he punts!
Do you suppose he wears a specially weighted shoe when he kicks off?
Do you think the reason he had trouble making field goals is he couldn’t get his weight shoe adjusted quite right?

His kick off tee is made of steel and that weight is included in the total.BobcatDel wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 1:45 pmI see Hall is 3 pounds heavier when he kicks off than he is when he punts!
