Here’s a pic I saw posted.

I wrote that I had a guess who it is, not that I know who it is. You can narrow down the possible commits to a short list. Do they have a known offer, which coaches (it matters) are following them on social media, does the recruit follow the program on social media and comment of the team's posts, have they visited, and other stuff. That just narrows down the list on who may possibly commit, but it's also not full proof. I get surprised all the time on some of these commits.

I'm pretty dumb about this but is it common to recruit specifically for this position, and have it be the ONLY thing he does on the team? I would assume some of these long snappers might get in on other ST as well?

These days, most teams do in fact have a dedicated long snapper. They generally don't do anything other than long snap in order to avoid injury, even if they potentially could play another position.

Believe it or not, long snapping is pretty difficult (ask Weber).

Usually they’re position specific, although fairly decent athletes. Johnson is listed at 6’2 210 and starts at LB for his HS, so he has some tackling skills, which is pretty important.
