Tommy and Brody also got shout outs!

73. Marcus Wehr, Montana State, offensive tackle
This program has two other legit Freaks candidates in quarterback Tommy Mellott (who made last year’s list) and defensive end Brody Grebe, a 250-pound senior, who vertical-jumped 40 inches this offseason and had 10 sacks last year. But we’re going with the 6-2, 300-pound Wehr, a first-team All-America right tackle who was the top-rated offensive tackle in the FCS last year by PFF. Wehr squatted 600 pounds, cleaned 375 and vertical-jumped 31 inches this offseason.

A 375 clean is danged impressive. Wehr has really turned himself into a fantastic player.

Almost 9 pull-ups at 290 lbs. He's an absolute freak.

After spending time with him at the Big Sky Kickoff, he is WAY bigger than 290 pounds. He is absolutely huge and I don't mean fat. His arms are the size of a normal man's legs!

That Feldman article listed him at 6-foot-2 and 300 pounds. He is absolutely 6-foot-4. I am 6-foot-1 and I was wearing cowboy boots in Spokane and he is several inches taller than me. He several inches taller than Brody Grebe too.

Would you say he’s noticeably larger than last year?

What about any of the other players?

Bruce added a few honorable mentions

Brody Grebe, Montana State, defensive end
The 6-3, 250-pound senior, a two-time All-Big Sky first teamer, was named third-team All-America after producing a team-high 13.5 tackles for loss, with a team-high 10 sacks, in 2023. A former all-state basketball player who rushed for 1,441 yards and totaled 31 touchdowns in high school, Grebe recorded a 40-inch vertical this offseason, bench pressed 350 pounds and squatted 560. MSU doesn’t usually run 40s, but the staff thinks he will run in the 4.5-second range. Grebe has already graduated with his engineering degree and is interested in graduate school to explore ways to more efficiently provide water for ranches such as the one he grew up on in Northeast Montana.
