Maybe the two booms today were the two commits today, and the one from earlier this week is still unknown?

Could be, but I’m at a loss to figure which one is which. I do think the first one was for Valcin. He was going to announce his commitment shortly after the first boom but held off for today. I see that he and Latin-Henley had an event of some sort. That may be why he held off.

No evidence, but I think that initial boom on the 20th might just have been for Braden Zimmer. He has re-posted and liked only one tweet from Vigen recently and it was that tweet on the 20th. I know, pretty slim, but it's interesting.

Read a cool article on Braden yesterday. I remember watching him play basketball as a freshman for Billings Christian School, he may have even been an 8th grader playing up a year, can’t quite remember. Anyways, he was a tiny guard who could shoot the lights out, but he couldn’t have been taller than 5’7 or 5’8 at the time. I was shocked when I made the connection, and that he was now 6’7 and committed to play lineman for us of all positions lol. Sometimes these guys with late growth spurts are the best athletes because of the skill they developed when they were small. Obviously will have to put on lots of weight but I’m excited to follow him and hope he can develop into a solid player for us.

Most football places say he's 6-6, 230, so he doesn't have far to go. I think you get measured in your basketball shoes for hoops tho.

Kinda reminds me of John weidenaar. Tall athletic guy that came in pretty skinny…. After 3-4 years of adding weight he turned into a force. Hoping this is a similar situation.

I will give you the size comparison but Big John was way more talented and suited to play right away out of high school. John started 4 years in a row, I don’t see Zimmer doing that, maybe in year three he plays. I hope Zimmer develops faster and proves me wrong, would only be the millionth time that has happened to me.Zimmer’s dad is a character for those that know him. He was a softball ump for city league and the head maintenance guy for the TW and FIB buildings in downtown Billings. I used to chat with him all the time. I haven’t seen him in a few years so I don’t know if he is still doing those things.

How fast is he? Obviously, it's up to the coaches, but what about playing tight end? I know, they have him slated to play the o-line. He would be a nice big target to throw at though and a good blocker and the Cats wouldn't have to wait for him to put on a lot of weight.

We will probably lose most of our O line next year so developing linemen if we can is imperative. We especially will need tackles. We only use 1 or 2 tight ends, but we need 5 O-linemen! Gone are the days when you get a kid ready to play as a freshman, so we need to get tall athletic kids entered into the OL "machine" hoping they come out in a year or two as a viable starter. If they really get developed, we may only have them for a year or two at the most e.g. Connor Wood etc.

I'm guessing you mean starters. There are still a nice bunch of upcoming linemen in the program. Obviously, the Cats still need to develop and recruit talent on the o-line, but I'm just asking about Zimmer's potential at another position. The Cats do use 2 tight ends but last year's injuries at the position was a perfect example where you need more than two at that position as well.
