So did Tommy get hurt on a 2 qb play? I think I saw him fake a carry off the screen and got tackled low. He was in for plays after that and seemed fine. If that wasn’t it, it almost seemed like a non-contact. I had to rewatch it cause I busy with kids, but nobody really noticed it till minutes into the fourth and one announcer said “Where’s Tommy?”.
So the big one…
-any info on Tommy? What was the injury?…. (The coaches are going to kill this guy, either let him pass more or use the stable of stud RB’s)
Others (any info/updates?)
-miles jackson? (Side note, I thought Jon Johnson played pretty well)
-Paul brott? (Getting him back will only help)
-Ty mcCollouch? (We really need some of these receivers to get back)
-JT reed (gonna need the OL at full strength if we insist on running the qb up the middle 58 times per game)

Obviously, there’s no hard date set for his return. But coaches are confident he will return sometime in the latter half of the season. Rehab is going well, from what I hear. Best guess for me is the Idaho or NAU game.

I was going off of something I had read over on Egriz, so probably not the most accurate information. They said something about a separated shoulder, which would lead me to believe an earlier return than the Griz-Cat game. You’re probably right about the return in either the Idaho or NAU game. He’s good, so it will definitely help getting him back.
With taco- maybe play him for cat/griz and the playoff run (assuming he is healthy), and still be able to redshirt him this year. Which would be nice.
I don't think Taco would go for that if he can play earlier.
I hope Vigen doesn't go for it either. In the era of the transfer portal, you play your best players when they're available and if that means five or six games instead of four then so be it.

On either a press conference, interview, or the one with he, Sean, and Denehhey, they talked about getting down or out of bounds more, reduce hits. I think he did that a few times in first half.

Yes, On one particular play he rolled right and turned up field. It was a one-on-one situation where he would typically plant hard and cut back inside. Instead the db was able to make an open field tackle limiting it to about a 6-yard gain. That doesn't happen if Mellott is 100%.

sometimes you wonder if that ends up causing more chance of injury as it goes against his instincts..I would sit Tommy this week regardless of how good he feels.

Any word on Valdez? I saw he kept playing after going down but he hasn't seemed very effective. Just seems to be trying to bullrush every play.

--Tommy still being evaluated, not sure how serious it is, or if he'll play this week.
--game was very physical but he thinks we "got out of it pretty well"
--Ty has at least another week
-- Miles Jackson, hopeful to get him back this week
-- JT Reed will be several weeks
-- Lane Sumner is "out for an extended period"
-- Brott might be available this week
