Craig's Top 25
Dakota's at #1 and #2 and then the Bobcats. Idaho at #7. All those make perfect sense to me. But holy hell, he has the gris going from a tie for 6th in the BSC to 10th in the nation???? No way.

I think the Cats will supplant NDSU at #2. Overtaking SDSU will be a tough task, but we’ll learn more in September.
As for dUMb, haven’t you heard? Natty (delusions) pending.

The gris do have a pretty easy schedule. Anyway, these rankings always have the gris high based mostly on what they did decades ago. Just more of the same BS. If the gris make the playoffs, it will be one win and done again for them, especially if they have to play their second game on the road.

Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

Is there any other team that has been able to live off the past as long as the griz? The only comparable D1 team I can think of is Notre Dame and they've at least had some very good regular seasons in the last 10-15 years.AFCAT wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 10:19 amThe gris do have a pretty easy schedule. Even the gris slogan “RTD” refers to the past.coloradocat wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 10:40 amIs there any other team that has been able to live off the past as long as the griz? Maybe it’s not as bad as I think but considering the lack of parity and my perception of how watered down it is, I think that if you’re not a “top five”* team, you’re probably not a serious contender.
Yeah, I realize that an 8 and an unseeded team made the semifinals a couple years ago but I also think both teams were actually top 5.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Being rated as the #10 team in FCS doesn't mean anywhere near what it used to. I'm looking at the teams ranked below UM and can't find one that clearly should be above them.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 5:28 pmMaybe it’s not as bad as I think but considering the lack of parity and my perception of how watered down it is, I think that if you’re not a “top five”* team, you’re probably not a serious contender.

And I’m not saying that UM couldn’t end up ranked in the top five. Last year I thought NDSU, SDSU, MSU and WSU were the only contenders. I was wrong because UIW and SAC were also in the hunt.MSU01 wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 5:30 pmBeing rated as the #10 team in FCS doesn't mean anywhere near what it used to.
