I think in the end Ifanse will look back and regret this move.
I disagree. This offense really doesn’t suit him anymore and if he can be the lead back and get upwards of 20 carries per game at a higher level of play, he should do it. He is exactly what Minnesota is losing in Ibrahim. He could start at quite a few D1 schools right now. He is a very known quantity and will be highly sought after.

I disagree that the offense doesn’t suit him anymore. I think that is a ridiculous take. The best rushing offense in the country just doesn’t work for the best FCS back in the country. Why? Because we don’t always run it right up the middle. Cmon.

I hope he does well but I think there is a very good chance that GoCats18 ends up being correct.

I will be very curious to see where he ends up, but I really think that if he is like Skattebo (Arizona State) on a weaker team in a decent conference, I don’t see him being the same kind of back as he was here. I hope he finds the right place, I hope he shines and gets the exposure he is hoping for. I personally don’t see it happening though. I think he ends up splitting time, ends up not being as productive and I would bet that we ends up about a 500-700 yard rushing season.

I mean I hope his body can, but do you think he’d be able to handle 20 plus carries a game? He hasn’t made it through an entire season without missing games or literally running on one leg by seasons end. I think he has success wherever he goes but I think he’ll split carries with at least one other back.

Hopefully we can keep the rest of the RB room in the room. I expected to lose one guy (Elliot) but now that Ifanse is leaving maybe everyone will stay.

If his surgery was a success and the year of rest without carries did what it was supposed to, I don't see any reason why not. Even it that number is 15-20 carries while splitting time with another back in a good running offense, he will put up some good numbers. He looked as explosive as he ever had in his career when he came back for the playoffs this year.

All time leading rusher, 3 SF appearances, National appearance, and a degree. What can he regret.

Updated with trey Yates. Bummer. But that is an example of someone entering the portal/transferring that does not surprise me at all. As he was going to be buried in the depth chart his entire career. Good luck to him.

Possibly not experiencing the thrill of going into battle and winning a national championship with all his brothers that he loves.

I think it all depends on what his primary reasons were for leaving the Cats. I agree with others in that if he wants to be the featured back that gets 25, 30 carries a game... that's not happening at MSU. Yes we are probably the best rushing team in the FCS, but how many of those rushing yards were by QBs?

So, shouldn't Eric Zambrano be on the list? Or is he on a leave of absence.

And another one Aaron Gerle.

I can add them I guess? I hadn’t put them on the front page because they entered the portal before this last season. Not sure how that works, are they technically a 2023 entry?

Gerle had issues with his entry and just recently was in the portal.
Eric? Started the season and left. Posted the above but no indication of and offers or visits.

Possibly, but Cats have to do it and his new opportunity has to be a disappointment. Pretty early for fans to make the claim

Oh for sure, agree with all that. Of course the Cats can still do it without him, but I don't think anyone would ever claim that Ifanse does not make the Cats a better team. My main point is that even though he accomplished a great deal at MSU, super stud, all time leading rusher, team leader, etc... it's not like there weren't additional things he could have accomplished had he stuck around. I wish him nothing but the best and I hope this turns out to be the right decision for him.

Eric Zambrano left last year (after spring ball).
Aaron Gerle (not sure who he is. Could not find him on the original roster)

Yup, they entered the portal right when this last season started. So kinda/technically in this transfer portal group, I guess….

Anyway, people asked that I add them to the front page.
