News about my future coming soon.

I thought I had heard he was coming back, hopefully this confirms it.

Getting him back would be huge!

Taco can do everything he can plus return punts. Not worried about him leaving one bit.

Clevan can play on the outside, I don’t think Taco can until he gets stronger. He’s a good, experienced, WR. A position we don’t have much experience at.

I agree, but also we really need to have players behind the starters at all positions that are either as good... or damn close to as good as the starters. Ya, I know this isn't always possible but that is the coaches' goal and so far they've done a pretty good job of establishing quality depth.

I don’t think he has a decision to make, I think he’s waiting on if he can play or not.

I don’t think he has a decision to make, I think he’s waiting on if he can play or not.

2017 - played
2018 - RS
2019 - played
2020 - Covid
2021 - injured and missed season (medical RS?)
2022 - played

I’m guessing he’s waiting on the NCAA to grant a 7th year. You can get a 6th year if you RS and then medical RS, so with Covid, he must be asking for 7.

Thomas was the best route runner on this year's team. Fortunately, that's something that can be coached.

He did an excellent job in the SDSU game. Sounds like he’s a bit of a leader. I hope he stays — proven commodity.

As I read this, it sounds like they’re trying to eliminate scenarios that allow kids to hop around schools until they find one that they’ll get playing time. Did I read that right?

Pretty much, sounds like they want to allow one transfer and then a second transfer only if a player has graduated and still has eligibility left. Anything beyond that would need a special waiver of the rules for one of the reasons mentioned in the article.

This should have been done initially, because it was not hard to see free transfers would go. Wasn’t it the UIW quarterback that was on his fifth team / school? I doubt the credit transfer process is any smoother than it was when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

I think he was one of the most under appreciated players on the offense. Pretty good pass catcher, but great perimeter run blocker.

Great news on Clevan T ! A proven all weather WR with "Kassis hands" and does a great job blocking. Has a chance to be the #1 WR next year as he can really open up the long routes with his skills. Wouldn't be surprised to see him as a team captain as well.

I think the big lesson I’ve learned from the transfer portal this off-season so far is that if you’re good enough to start at at tackle for Dixie State, you’re good enough to start at tackle for UM.

Not a chance he's an offensive captain for next year. Sure a senior leader and talks, so hopefully younger guys listen and follow, but Tommy, Snell, Perk Lane and probably even Chambers well ahead of him for Team Leadership roles on the offensive side in 2023.

I'd say Grebe and Valdez the front runners for the 2 defensive captains.

And hear me out, I'm happy Clevan is back and maybe he does take the WR Room leadership with Willy P graduating. Going to be needed on and off the field for sure, but he's way down the list of that role.
