I have a question for the construction guys/gals out there, not the google experts. I'm just an amateur that is fascinated on how this stuff is designed and built. Why do they have a big storm water run off pond on the South side of the building to gather rain and snow water runoff when they have a gigantic irrigation pond only a few feet away from the building on the Southwest side? The water in the irrigation pond is used on the grass areas around campus, so it would make sense to me to gather water runoff from the building and flow it there instead. Is the reason because of the amount of water potentially coming off the building might overwhelm the irrigation pond or is there another reason? I'm sure the experts have done it this way for a reason though, I'd just like to know why.

Some of the images are kind of blurry after I uploaded them, so I'll zoom in bit.

One thing that concerns me about this design is no turf once out of bounds, only a hard track for players to land on.

This is just a rendering, but is has a little bit of extra turf on the edge.
I would think they’d hold off on full on scrimmages and some tackling until they were outside too, but you never know.

Just to give you guys a status update on the gris facility since they have a 2 year head start on us....they have construction trailers there! And a couple piles of gravel. At this rate it might be done in 2 more years. Congratulations gris friends. You'll make it there someday.

Here’s video of SDSU’s practice in their facility. I think they’ll be alright. They’ll have to be aware when talking out of bounds.

But when do they break ground? When's it going to be done? Just kidding!

That’s fantastic news ! I was wondering what the status of the fundraising was, I know the goal was to cross the finish by today.

I noticed the water was all out of the irrigation pond, but I don’t know if that’s the norm this time of year due to freezing temps. They do have to take out a section of the pond to build the indoor. I didn’t see much else different in that area, but I bet dirt will start being moved soon.

So will we have brown grass on campus this summer?

He finally agreed to sell his house in Bozeman and is donating the amount MSU needed to finish the project. In return, MSU will rename West Grant Street, PHAT CAT street.

Seriously, think an official statement would have been made by now. I’m thinking PHAT CAT’S sources are unreliable.

Well I’m going to vote wrong because I was given info via the QB club that they were hoping to be able to announce it at Saturday’s spring game. I’m assuming that didn’t happen.

I’m going to guess that Phat might be in the know of something that might not have the t’s crossed and i’s dotted. Just a hunch.

Sime is moving the irrigation pond, right now. But, what do I know?
