By my estimate there’s been close to $60 million in athletic facilities and athletic facility-related projects at MSU since 2009.
2010 - EZ project $11 million
2011 - stadium lights $.5 million
2??? - track improvements $?
2011 - scoreboard $.5 million
2??? - Fieldhouse improvements
2021 - Bobcat Athletic Complex $18 million
2024 - scoreboard $?
2024 - Indoor Training Facility $25 million

Anyone know those years and amounts?
Didn’t the Thayer family donate 1 Million for the scoreboard? I might be confused…or it maybe was a gift that covered several things, but the reason for their name being on the board was their gift.

I’ve always wondered about this. So you donate enough to be recognized, but then in a few years someone else pays more to upgrade and your contribution is forgotten. Has to be a better way to do this

That video board has been there since 2008 (I think). They’ve got their money out of it.

The stadium used to be named after Reno H. Sales.

The article was written in 2011. You’re right though. Time to move on.

With all do respect if a family is putting up money and the value today is more than the value of 13 years or ten years or twenty years ago is it fair to forget about the previous donation? Someone mentioned Reno H sales stadium. I for one was disappointed that name went away because it was a significant part of history for many years.

To be clear I’m in favor of the programs that have said so and so stadium with this sponsor field. It’s recognized the old while gaining money off the new

If you want to be remembered, probably best to put your name on something more permanent. The Cats should have put their name on the staircase in the BAC, just like they did the other big donors. That would be something more permanent and honor the big donors.

Heck, I purchased a locker in the BAC and the little plaque they put on there honoring one of my relatives was basically glorified cardboard. That doesn't bother me a whole lot since I gave for the sake of giving and to advance the program. I also know that locker won't be around a whole lot of years.

I’ve written and said this for years. The stadium should be called ‘Gatton-Sales stadium’ to honor the names of the last two stadiums. If they don’t want to name it Gatton-Sales, then put two statues out front honoring both men. I’d donate.

Went to Bozeman today to watch the ladies bball team. Took some pics of the fitness center. I know, off topic but I figured people would be interested.

Has there been a recent update on how close we are to having the amount needed to start the indoor practice facility?

A couple million a few weeks back. Still on track to start construction in later Spring.

I see the ladies’ coffee club at egris has spent 6 pages convincing themselves that dUMb’s bubble will be far better than MSU’s proposed IPF.

They should ask their track team if they like to bus 3 hrs to run on an actual indoor track.

Still looking for donations. Down to about $1.25 million left to finish funding the project. Donate now!
I don't know when construction will start or when it will be completed or what material they are using or what color the building will be or anything else.
