Miami Herald reporter saying it's as Tight End...
Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Wow... didn’t see that one coming. Never considered him playing a different position at the next level. Will be interesting to see how it goes.
Congrats!
Congrats!

He has the size, speed and athleticism. Interesting, wonder how often that happens and how it works out. Happens all the time going from High School to College, but College to the Pros?

Wasn’t Julian Edelman a quarterback in college?
I remember Pat Donovan was drafted as a defensive lineman but switched to the offensive line when he got to the Cowboys, but that was back in the 70s.

Position probably doesn't matter to start. If he sees the field it will be on special teams I would guess. Hope he makes it.

I found it interesting that several teams inquired as to him moving to TE.

Makes me feel like a semi-competent player scout

Re: Sterk signs with Miami
Athletes making switches is not all that uncommon.
I recall a story from the 2016 Olympics. It was one of those 5-minute or so interest pieces on television between events. The woman who won the triathlon was a competitive runner in college (or swimmer, sorry I can't remember) here in the USA. After college she had moved on and started her career as an accountant when she was approached out of the blue by the body that oversees Olympic training for triathletes. This body scours the country for college athletes that have certain attributes they're looking for in successful triathletes. She went on to win gold for the USA and the silver medalist finished quite a ways behind.
Point being, it's doubtful this woman would have ever considered competing as a triathlete if that body hadn't suggested it. And Sterk might never have considered making the switch to TE if Miami hadn't suggested it.
This is also the formula Dan Hawkins and Chris Petersen used to build Boise State into a powerhouse. Recruit athletes, not positions then coach them up.
I'm super excited for Sterk. That final play against Peay is worth a thousand words.

Interesting that he took that over other offers to try and play defense. Guess he thinks its his best shot to stick.

This may be one heck of a story in a few years. I hope he makes it.

I definitely wish him all the best, but if a guy like Beau Sandland can't stick in the league, Sterk has an uphill battle.

Man Sandland was a special talent for the FCS level. Really wish we could have had him a few years.
I love the Bobcats and the Miami Hurricanes an unhealthy level

I knew the timing of this article wasn't going to be good.

Hopefully he can continue playing football somewhere in the future. Moving to offense was always going to be a long shot, even before all the craziness.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!
