Tootell and Nuanez feeding your sports fix

Post by Colter_Nuanez » Mon Mar 23, 2020 8:05 pm

We are full force still doing Tootell and Nuanez every day on the radio in Western Montana and on SWX Montana television statewide from 4-6 p.m. each weekday. We will not be on TV this week as we move into a new state of the art studio (great timing, I know. We are moving in shifts, lots of lysol wipes...)

We will give pertinent updates on the pandemic's effect on sports but mostly, we want to entertain, tell good stories, provide great interviews and give everyone a sports fix since there's no actual live sports. Here's some interviews and podcasts of the show we have done since everything went nuts a few weeks ago in Boise.

What is Harald Frey's legacy at Montana State?:

What is Sayeed Pridgett's legacy at Montana?: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/m ... 0468369755

Big Sky Conference commissioner Tom Wistricil on the current situation: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/m ... 0468625743

Voice of the Bobcats Jason Alvine joins to talk all things Montana State: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/m ... 0468728015

Montana State athletic director Leon Costello on current state of affairs: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/m ... 0468930794

Bobcat & Griz graduated senior interview series

We will also be featuring graduated senior football players from Montana State and Montana throughout the coming weeks. We started with MSU senior defensive lineman Derek Marks on Friday. We will have former Griz standouts OG Angel Villanueva (Tuesday at 5 p.m., C Cy Sirmon (Wednesday at 5 p.m.) and S Josh Sandry (Friday at 5 p.m.) on this live this week. MSU standouts MLB Josh Hill, SS Brayden Konkol, RB Logan Jones and DE Bryce Sterk will join us next week when we are in our new studio.

MSU DL & captain Derek Marks: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/m ... 0469027240

Big Sky Conference football head coach series

Finally, we will be doing a series interviewing all 13 head coaches from around the Big Sky Conference. The SID at UC Davis put the date in Dan Hawkins' calendar two weeks early  so we randomly started it today. But the interview was really funny.

Can't listen right now but please tell me the MSU win over CU was mentioned often. :D

Haha, I'll never forget the call by the long time voice of the Buffs at the end of the game (I watched the web stream)... It was something close to "there's only one word to describe this loss (pauses for effect)... Ouch!"

....aaaand then in typical Kramer team fashion, the Cats went and lost to the Fighting Woodheads of Chadron State one week later. #-o

….aaaand in even more typical Kramer team fashion, lose the next two as well! One being (I believe) a 0-45 beat down by UC Davis.

Loved the interview with Derek Mark's, impressive young man. He'll make an impact, no matter where he lives. Loved watching him play, he has a couple highlights that will be replayed for years to come.

Then, after 3 straight losses, won 6 straight before losing a very close game in Missoula, followed by the beatdown of Furman for our first playoff win in 18 years. It was definitely a roller coaster season in 2006. I was at the Colorado game. That was a lot of fun!

Only game during my college days I left the game early. Well, that and the Furman game which I went to, puked my guts out early in the 3rd quarter (legit sick not self-induced  ), went home and then called into work and almost got fired because my boss saw me at halftime during the game. He was still bitter about it during my exit interview months later.

I know I watched it several years ago on the CU Buffs website (was in their video archive), but can't seem to find it now.... Probably gone forever.

I remember before the game the Colorado student section was screaming " f#"k Montana" which struck me funny...and as I was walking up the bleachers to go to the concession stand I ran into a guy with a Griz shirt on and for some reason I had to say it......"boy, they really hate you guys!"
