Re: MSU vs NDSU predictions
I was curious how the prediction thread read for last year’s game against NDSU. It looks like less than 25% predicted an MSU win:
https://bobcatnation.com/bobcatbb/viewt ... 3&start=20
This year, we probably have more than 75% predicting a Cat win! The progress is undeniable! Also, I don’t believe this NDSU team is nearly as strong as their past teams. I expect Cats win 20-13 in a hard fought game.

My Gut:
Cats win and its not even close
Reality:
Cats win but will be close.
For some reason this game feels like Alabama vs Clemson last year where Bama was favored but Clemson had a shot and Clemson routed them.

Besides beating them 24 to 6, we will teach them the correct pronunciation of their mascot. It will also be revealed to them that a roof≠dome.
I get the local dialect, but am surprised their college of architecture hasn't picked up on the latter.

Re: MSU vs NDSU predictions
So NDSU has the history the winning streak the depth the home field the bla bla bla. The Cats are good enough to win in spite of all that.
When you look closely at the most resent 4 games for each team some things and trends start to show up that give the Cats more hope and chance. I won't make the longest most confusing post by showing all my work but in about a dozen ways of comparing both teams last 4 games the Cats are consistently trending up in ways the Bison are not and often bison are trending down. Right now the trend is the Bobcat's friend and if it continues the Cats win.
As much as I enjoy doing the analysis that I sometimes do when I've got the time it only gives me an accuracy of about 69% so better than flipping a coin but not that great either. The chaos of a football game is just too much for anything better. This time in 6 different scenarios I ran, neither team ever scored more than 30 points and neither scored less than 15. Each team won 3 of the 6 I ran so it would seem that this game is a coin flip.
My pick: MSU 27 NDSU 20
I've never fully agreed with those who say we only need to win by one point but in this game I'm fully in on that.
Win Bobcats! Even if it's only by one point, just win!

Yep, ditto! I think I posted this on another thread, but I wonder if Marks and others watched the film on NDSU and held a team meeting and said, "Guys... this game doesn't have to be close."

Re: MSU vs NDSU predictions
I really want to say 52-10 Cats, but reality is this will be a tough, tight game.
Cats 17
Bizon 10
I've been thinking about a comment Bobby made before last weekend's game about why it's hard to beat a team twice. His comment was essentially that when you're coaching 18-22 year old "kids" they have their own ideas and don't always listen. I can't help but think that the Bizon have this history, this legacy, and they all know it. As much as a coach can be humble and say all the right things about being prepared, focusing on the game, putting forth a team effort, not getting too cocky, blah, blah, blah, young guys, full of testosterone and a winning history, maybe get really arrogant and stupid. Partially from pride, partially from desperation to not be the team that loses the streak. I feel like their immaturity will be exposed by the Cats tomorrow. We have nothing to lose in comparison. I mean we do, but we don't, ya know? Teams that are motivated, hungry, and aren't "defending" anything are pretty dangerous. It'll be close, but I really feel the Cats are going to be the giant killers tomorrow.

Re: MSU vs NDSU predictions
I love all the optimism! I'd also say to all the fans that are prediction a win, or worst case a close loss..... why not put a bunch of money on the game? Not that I'm advocating gambling, but I am. I mean, if we all think that 18 point spread is way out of line, why not take advantage of that and put a chitload of money on the game, and donate the winnings to the program? Just a thought.

Ok, I don't ordinarily do this, but 14 - 10 Bobcats with a Rovig to Travis Jonsen TD pass with 1:33 left on the clock in the game. It's going to be a definsive slugfest.
