injuries?

Post by wbtfg » Mon Dec 16, 2019 10:04 am

How did we come out of AP health wise?

The only injury that potentially looked bad was Tyrel Thomas, but then he was able to hop up. Hopefully he's good to go this weekend.

He had a fantastic game, by the way.

My son was on the field after the game and said he was celebrating with everyone and looked OK.

Konkol was out the entire fourth quarter wasn't he? Was at the presser though so hopefully not too bad. I wonder how Ifanse is feeling after 26 hard carries. Sessions went down and Woods came back in. Don't remember who finished the game. Overall I think we are 1000% more healthy than last year going to Fargo.

He rolled an ankle then came back in the final few series in the 4th quarter. I think Tyrel just got the wind knocked out of him.

speaking of GOOD injury news- I believe Connor Wood was rotating into the game this last weekend. that definitely is a nice boost to the OL (if anything else just to help with depth).

Totally agree. I think in one of the press conferences, Choate mentioned Wood as a guy who was performing at an all-conference level before getting injured.

I loved the heavy packages with Session and Wood in there together. In fact, I think Ifanse broke off a big run out of that formation.

Great to have him back.

Thomas and Ifanse were the only two I was concerned about. Ifanse took some shots that I haven't really seen him take, kudso to AP on those.

In the post game presser Choate joked about Konkol taking the 4th quarter off.

Okada got hit around the knees while blitzing and went down as did the guy that hit him. Okada took awhile to get back up, but seemed okay. The AP guy took longer. Another AP player was hurt on that play.

Okada was back in after that

I have no inside info, but I’ll be pleasantly surprised if he’s playing this weekend.

I think MAYBE we could see him in the NC if the Cats pull off the win this weekend, that would put it at a full 8 weeks of rest/recovery since he last played against UC Davis and the NC rolls around.

We’ll see, the good thing is how good the defense is playing without him, I don’t think many expected to lose the single most talented kid on the team and not miss a beat up to this point.

Ya, either the wind knocked out....or a nard shot?

That was my immediate thought live. The way he laid down curled up a bit, the body knows to protect those sensitive spots

I've heard rumblings that Troy will play Saturday, I'm not sure I believe it though, they said the same thing last week.

Me too, that's why I asked if he's sure.

Will we know Friday whether he's on the plane?

Don’t know if he’ll play or not, but there’s no way he won’t be on the plane. He’s a huge part of this team even from the sideline. He’ll be with the team one way or another.

Not sure about that. There's a roster limit of I think 64. Doesn't that determine who flies? With that small a number, you can't afford to bring guys who won't play.
