Hollie Hashley to Carroll?

I was reading the Greatfalls Trib this week end and in reporting on a Great Falls vrs Kalispell girls Basketball game it mentioned that Kalispells Hollie Hashley, was a Carroll College Volleyball recruit for next year.

Did I miss something I was thinking that she would sign D-1 for basketball at least. I was really hoping that we would see another Hasley in the Blue and Gold

Does Hollie have any siblings?

I don't know about her going to Carroll, but she is a great volleyball player as well. I hope she is going to end up in Bozeman, but either way best of luck to her.

Anyway, yes she does have siblings. One possibly two younger sisters and for sure a younger brother. I haven't seen the family in a long time, but I am guessing their son is probably around middle school age.

Her father was a Bobcat/athlete (he's a big boy at 6'9 too). I know he's a big Cat fan.

I think that that is why Mr. mslacat said "another Hashley".

For the record Doug was the big (and I mean big) basketball stud on Campus my freshman and Sophmore year at MSU. He actually was "only" 6-7 but somewhere around of 250-260 of sculpted muscle. He he defined for me at least "power" in power forward. His true position though should have been defined as "Hustle-power forward" I truely can not think of player who played harder, hustled more and represented Bobcat basketball better. I saw Doug last year at a Lady Griz Game and the SOB looks in good enough shape to play college ball (football or Basketball). Doesn't look like he aged a year since 1980.

mslacat,

We are the same vintage; I watched Hash my first 2 years in Bozeman as well.

My two favorite memories of him are when he scored his 1000th point (followed by a monster dunk by Jose Slaughter while the team & crowd congratulated Doug) and nearly getting killed in the PE Center during a pickup game when the big fella tried to see if he could actually dent the bricks with my body!

Hollie, IMO, is a better basketball player than a volleyballer; I truly thought she'd play hoops for the Cats but it's not to be. Flathead's former head coach is currently running the Saints team; that may have been a factor in Hollie's decision. She is a quality young lady and I wish her all the best.

I played against him for 3 years in high school.........he wasn't bad! Got all the calls! Roomed with him for a quarter in college, let's just say the air was thick in that apartment. LOL
