The rumors have to have a little more truth to them than we all thought if a California newspaper cites MSU rather than just lumping I-AA together. I'm still not very hopeful though

...I'm keeping my fingers crossed...Coach said he wants to pick up seven receivers to go with his five or six qbs...we already have a running back from the same high school conference as Bush who had many of the same schools chasing him before he blew his knee out. And thanks for the article, BAC.

That is twice that we have heard this rumor. Hopefully there is something to it and he comes in here and lights it up. If for some crazy reason he goes to the griz........let me be the first to say "aw we really didnt want him anyway".

Actually, I hope he comes to the Gallatin Valley for a couple of seasons worth of work.

Does he have any ties to the Cats? Just curious why you guys are the only school mentioned. I would be pretty excited about this guy if I was a Cat fan.

I'm guessing he will sit down with Carroll after the season and see where he fits into the plans. Carroll isn't afraid to play freshman in front of juniors or seniors. Rare is the player at today's USC who sits on the bench for three seasons and then makes an impact. If the kid wants to play and be the man, he probably is seriously considering transferring somewhere.

Very interesting. I'm guessing he would make quite an impact at MSU.

Tramaine Murray and Dominic Sonsini went to the same high school as Lewis. Murray probably knows him and, being a transfer himself, is encouraging him to go this route. From what I can tell Murray was pretty happy he came to MSU.

A couple of possibilities.

1) He either knows Murray or Gatewood and has been told by them that MSU likes to throw the ball.

2) He has another California connection on the current Bobcat roster.

There are more, but part of the benefit of bringing in CA kids that end up being successful is that word can spread to other talented players who are stuck on someone's bench.

1AAfan just confirmed my Theory #1.

I'd rather transfer to a school where I knew someone or at least felt like I had something in common (other than football) with the players. MSU has a good variety of players, yet isn't spread so thin that nothing is established. Plenty of SoCal, NoCal, Samoan, Montanan, Pac NW to keep everyone in touch with their homes.

Cal Poly has two Saint Bontaventure players on the team and we are only a two and half hour drive from his home. We would love to see him in a Mustang uniform.

I'm sure he would love all of the run blocking he'd get to do at Cal Poly!

That would be UN-REAL if we got this kid. He was ranked as the top HS receiver in the nation, and had offers from USC, Texas, Miami....etc.

I'm usually not one to get too high on players before they see the field wearing the Blue and Gold, but this kid is BIG TIME!

So was Eddie Sullivan, Evin Groves, Rick Gatewood, Chaz Guin, and many of our defensive linemen. Our coaches beat some big programs getting several of these kids. Check out the schools after Rolovich and Rasmusson.

Now our kids will open with Colorado, get used to playing at game day speed, then get stuck with Big Sky officials who physically can't keep up with the speed we put on the field, so they'll have to watch the flags fly so our "officials" can try to keep up. That's the only downside, in my opinion, of getting the caliber kid we have in Bozo today.

Lend him one of your Pampers, I'm sure he'll return it when he's done with it.

Darrel Jones had 63 receptions and 1118 yards with 6 TDs in 2004. Ramses Barden caught 40 balls for over 600 yards and 9 TDs this year. If he came to Poly he would get plenty of balls thrown his way and he wouldn't freeze his b@lls off doing it. His family and friends could watch him play.

Will he ever consider Poly? Probably not, but I can dream.

So I take it both of those guys graduated?

Darrel Jones graduated last year and Ramses Barden was a Redshirt freshman this year and has three years remaining. He is 6'6" 225 lbs. Look to see him on Sundays in four years. W. Lewis and Barden would make a hell of a WR tandem.

Did I mention that he would only be a 2 1/2 hour drive from home?
