Louis Arnold:
There is a running back who is beginning to get some notice on the recruiting the scene by the name of Louis Arnold (5-10, 180, 4.5) from Oakland (Calif.) O'Dowd.
Rivals.com
Louis Arnold is having a good senior season.
In seven games this season, Arnold has run for almost 1,500 yards while scoring 13 touchdowns.
"I think Louis is going to be one of those late guys," O'Dowd coach Paul Perenon said. "I think he's really going to pick up steam in December and January."
"Louis is going to put up some big numbers before he's done," Perenon said. "He's been great for us so far and we still have some season left."
"Louis is a very durable running back," Perenon said. "He has carried the ball over 40 times, three games this season and he is stronger on the fortieth carry than he is on the first."
"Louis has great vision," Perenon said. "He is also very good into the line of scrimmage and getting through and out on a run. He finishes off his runs well."
"Another thing Louis does well is jump cutting," Perenon said. "He also has outstanding acceleration."
"Louis wants to be the complete player," Perenon said. "He is working hard on improving his blocking skills."
"It is more of a technique thing than skill or desire when it comes to blocking," Perenon said. "He wants to be a good blocker and he has the desire to get better."
Though Arnold is still under the radar he is getting looks from San Jose State, Utah State and Montana State.

Jake Fetzer:
The 4A football playoffs continue to roll on, and unfortunately for Jake Fetzer, his season is already over. There's no question the strong 6-foot-2, 215-pound athlete put together some kind of senior season however, and did so even though he needed to play a new role to help out the team. Now while he's hoping that his college recruiting picks up, Fetzer can reflect on this past year and think about the good memories.
"I wish we were still playing," Fetzer said. "I had a lot of fun this year though. Even though we had those two losses early (to Jesuit and Southridge) we still had a good season. I don't think I had as good a year as last year, but that was mainly because of my change in position. But I'm pretty happy with the way I played. My defense got a lot better, especially in bump coverage."
Many other noticed Fetzer's play, as he was named First Team All-Metro League on both sides of the ball. He's hoping all this will continue translating into more recruiting interest as he recapped who he's currently hearing from.
"Portland State has offered, and I've talked to Montana, Oregon State, and Weber State," Fetzer said. "I haven't thought a lot about (my recruitment) since the season was going on, but right now I really like OSU. I've been down there a lot and went to about three or four games this year. I thought they did really well early and really liked how Mike Riley coached them."
Fetzer is being recruited on both sides of the ball, but the Beavers are actually envisioning him at wide receiver in a Mike Hass sort of way. There's no question that Oregon State is Fetzer's leader and he's just waiting to hear the magic words.
"I'm hoping they'll offer me," Fetzer said. "I've been talking with Coach Burton and he's saying they've been talking about me the last couple of days. I really like the school. I want to go into a fish/wildlife major and they have a really good program in that."
Until Fetzer hears the word "scholarship" mentioned from Oregon State however, he's looking at all of his current options such as the Big Sky schools - including his first offer.
"I don't know too much about Portland State - I didn't get to see any of their games because on Saturdays we usually looked at game film," Fetzer said. "But I like the coaches there. I'm not too big on living in Portland though. But I would like to take a visit there, as well as to the other (Big Sky) schools."
Visit dates for all schools on his list are still in the works, but Fetzer hopes that will get ironed out in the next month or so. Essentially, if OSU doesn't offer, he'll pick a school that best fits his academic goals and where he feels the most comfortable.

Skyler Trimble (Has offers from MSU and UM):
With the biggest weekend in Washington State's recruiting season coming up, we take a look at one more in-state player who will take part in the Junior Day festivities.
Skyler Trimble is a lineman from Davis High School in Yakima. Davis has had a 1-28 record over the last three seasons, but Trimble, along with good friend Marcus Rance is one of two Division I recruits for the Pirates.
He lists Washington State as his leader right now, and finishes his top five with Cal, Arizona State, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame. Ironically, his father, David, was a wide receiver/kick returner for the Huskies in the 1980's.
Trimble said, "I wouldn't mind going to WSU and going against his Huskies. It's also close to home.
"I want to see how the practices are, how their linemen work, and see the campus, the coaches and the facilities," Trimble continued.
What does Trimble bring to the table? He said, "I love pulling. I like to pull and hit people; I try and get two decleaters a play. I don't think I allowed a sack all year for the past two years, but I also love run blocking."
Despite the low record, Trimble comes from a conference that is regarded as one of the top in the state - the Big 9. And Trimble admits that the competition he has faced has helped. He said, "It's real good competition and it helps me get ready for the next level. But it has been tougher getting noticed (due to Davis' record)." He also noted that his high school coaching staff has been helping out a ton.
He is a guard on the offensive side of the ball, and Trimble will be one of many of the top recruits in the state in attendance in Pullman this weekend.

Brandon O'Dore (No Offers Yet)
Brandon O'Dore (6'3 220) and his Mountain View Thunder had a pretty solid year, going 7-3 and losing in the preliminaries to Curtis of the SPSL South. Even though O'Dore and his team lost, he vastly improved his recruiting stock as he went against Curtis tackle Grady Maxwell, the 6'3 320 hoss who is heading to WSU on a full ride next year.
Idaho coaches were there to watch O'Dore, and you could say they were impressed...
O'Dore works out at the Eugene NIKE camp this past June.
"Idaho is coming in on Thursday to talk to me, my coach, and my family." said O'Dore. Are they close to offering a scholarship? "They have hinted towards it, so we'll see". Two other programs Brandon is hearing from are two other local programs, Eastern Washington and Boise State. "I just sent in the tape to Eastern, so they said they'll evaluate it and be in touch soon".
O'Dore started on both sides of the pigskin this season, at DE and TE on offense. He garnered first team all GSHL at both positions.
Idaho likes him at the defensive end spot, while Boise State likes him at tight end. And Eastern? "They said they'll evaluate both offense and defense".

John Wasniewski
Crater High School ended its season a few weeks ago, so John Wasniewski has been able to focus on figuring out his future. The smart 6-foot-2, 195-pound safety from Central Point wants the opportunity to play big-time college football, and is hoping that things will pick up in his college recruitment. Wasniewski felt that he had a senior season that merited some looks, although he still wishes he were playing right now.
"It didn't happen the way we wanted it to," Wasniewski said. "We lost our last two games, so we missed the playoffs. But overall I guess the season was good. As a team, we lead the conference in total defense. For me, things went alright, although I always think that I can do better. I didn't get any picks becaues the other team always went the other way, but I thought I improved my ability to read and read things that much quicker."
Wasniewski ended up earning second team All-SOC honors, and along with his reading skills, he felt he really improved his confidence and his abilities as a team leader. The hope is that his size, speed, and grades will translate into an opportunity to play at a high level in college. So far he's had a few bites.
"I've been talking to the University of San Diego a little, and West Point has called but I haven't been able to get back to them yet," Wasniewski said. "I've also heard from Princeton and Air Force. The coach from San Diego said that he'd be up here after Thanksgiving to meet with me. It sounds like a pretty nice city down there, so it will be nice to meet him."
No offers yet, so Wasniewski is keeping all of his options open at this point. He knows that the military academies require a big commitment, but is willing to find out more about those opportunities. While he's listening to anybody and everybody right now, there's no doubt he has an ultimate goal.
"I want to play at the highest level possible," Wasniewski said. "But we'll see what happens and see what comes up."

John Austin (mslacat posted this earlier)
The other player who is getting recruiting attention from Sylmar, Calif., is quarterback/safety John Austin (6-0, 180, 4.6). As outstanding as C.J. Gable was for Sylmar, Austin may get the team's MVP.
John Austin is one to watch over the last two months of recruiting.
"Everybody knows we have C.J., but John is had a MVP type season," Sylmar coach London Woodfin said. "We wouldn't have been as good without him."
"Oregon called last week," Woodfin said. "They're recruiting him but they have a couple guys ahead on their chart, but if they fall through the Ducks could go on him."
"Idaho State and Montana State are recruiting John real hard," Woodfin said. "Idaho State are coming back for the second week in row."
"It's a mystery to me why John is flying under the radar," Woodfin said. "He has size, he's rangy and he's very athletic."
"It is a good thing that his recruitment has begun to pick up," Woodfin said. "Someone going to get a very good player."
Austin had an outstanding senior season on both sides of the ball. As a quarterback, Austin threw for 1,493 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also rushed for 345 yards and had six rushing touchdowns.
On defense, Austin racked up 33 tackles and had five interceptions.

Scott Zick
One of the bigger surprises at the 5A level this season has been Fort Collins High. The Lambkins are currently 7-2 and atop the Front Range Conference. One of the reasons for their success has been the play of senior Scott Zick.
The 5-foot-11, 185 pound strong safety has recorded more than 50 tackles, seven sacks and eight pass break ups this fall.
"Scott is physical and intimidating but maintains responsibility," explained his father, Brian Zick. "He does not get beat deep and not a lot of balls are thrown in his direction due to tight coverage."
Zick was also a first-team all-conference selection as a junior.
Colorado State, Montana, Montana State, Wyoming, Idaho State, South Dakota State, Northern Colorado and North Dakota have all been sending mail.
North Dakota, Fort Hayes and Northern Colorado have all been in phone contact.
Zick grew up a fan of Colorado State and camped in Fort Collins this past summer.

Collin Creighton:
There is a sleeper prospect coming out of the wood work in the talent-rich state of California and it's cornerback Collin Creighton, who is a big framed defensive back at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds with stats that are showing up on a bigger radar.
The Pleasanton (Calif.) Amador Valley speedy DB had three interceptions during his first game and also a touchdown from his defensive spot. Tackles and fumble recoveries are also starting to mount on Creighton's stat sheet and that in turn is bringing colleges to his doorstep.
"I've heard from Arizona State, Montana State, Utah State, New Mexico State and Colorado," Creighton said. "I haven't talked to any of those schools yet on the phone to ask them about offers, but I'm hoping to pretty soon. My mom went to Texas, so that's like my dream school, but I'm trying to be patient."
After learning from a senior defensive back last year, Creighton is really starting to pour it on during his senior season and put his name out there.
"I have a lot of expectations for myself," Creighton said. "Last year we were 12-1 and lost in the championship, so we all want to get back there and do our part."
As for a decision, Creighton says no matter when he gets offered that will come on his own time.
"I want to see what I can get and make the best decision for myself," Creighton said. "It's going to be the best choice for me and my family.

Alex Green:
Alex Green will lead the Techmen from both sides of the ball
Alex Green is ready to go. The athletic 6-foot, 200-pound safety/running back from Benson Tech High School in Portland can't wait to get going on what should be a playoff push for the Techmen this fall. From an individual standpoint, he's hoping to put together a strong senior season that will earn him a college scholarship - especially from the school that's on the top of his list.
"Oregon State has started recruiting me a little bit more," Green said. "I've been talking to Coach Burton and he says that if I keep it up, I'll get an offer. So I just have to keep doing what I'm doing."
Green recently got another chance to visit his top choice when he and several other recruits were invited down to campus for OSU's opener against Portland State. He enjoyed his unofficial visit, taking in the sights and sounds of brand new Reser Stadium and the Beavers big win.
"I talked to the players and they all seemed pretty cool," Green said. "I liked it a lot. After we ate with the team, we got to meet the coaches and then we went on the field to watch the pre-game warmups. We then enjoyed the game. It scared me at first, but in the second half they really whooped PSU."
Green noted that BYU and Montana State have also been picking things up in his recruiting, but OSU remains a strong number one - so much that the second they offer a scholarship, he's a Beaver. But Green knows that he has to earn that chance, so he's planning on working hard this year. He likes how things have been shaping up so far for the Techmen.
"We feel pretty confident," Green said. "We played Lincoln in the Jamboree and we did pretty good. We'll be better than last year."

Didn't I read over the holiday break that Kramer and Bobcats signed the 2nd rated QB from the state of Washington? Anyone have any thoughts or addtional info on him. Kramer seemed pretty high on him from the article. And does that mean he won't be making an offer or attempt further to sign Larsen from Cut Bank? Curious and hopeful....

I think that we're still pursuing Jeff Larson, but it sounds like we may be wanting to bring him in as a Tight End, or possibly a defensive player.

Yep, he is suppossed to be a stud too. We should be set for the next few years on QB's I would think now. Let Carpenter and Rolovich battle it out for the starting job the next 2 years and then have Rasmussen come in after learning the system and letting the ball fly!CatFamily wrote:Didn't I read over the holiday break that Kramer and Bobcats signed the 2nd rated QB from the state of Washington? El Cajon Valley high athlete Abraham Muheize has flown under the radar the entire season. He quitely shattered every yards passing and yard from scrimmage record in California state history. The most impressive thing about Muheize's season is that this was his first year playing quarterback..Ever.
One can make the arguement that Muheize had one of the most impressive statistical seasons even in California. In 2005, he passed for 4,047 yards and 41 TD's throught the air. Even more impressively was the fact that Muheize rushed for 1,150 yards and recorded another 13 TD's on the ground.
At 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, Muheize boasts a 4.6 forty and 4.2 shuttle time. He knows that his college future likely lies on the defensive side of the ball at free saftey. Not to be considered just an offensive force, this talented playmaker had 118 tackles and 10 INT's from the saftey position.
So with all these gaudy stats, one would think that college's would be beating down Muheize's door. At this date he holds no offers. In fact, the only schools that have come calling are divsion two schools like Villanova, Montana State, New Hampshire and Idaho State. Muheize recently sent out his game tape to many division one colleges and he is hoping schools will offer when they see his ability on the football field.
When Muheize has the ball in his hands he is leatal. He has great agility and he has the ability to cut and make people miss. On defense, Muhieze is a heady player with a nose for the football. His ability as a leader and quarterback of the defense shine from the saftey position.
"I think my stregths are that I love to compete. No matter what the other team looks like on paper, I know that you have to show up. I dont fear any player," Muheize admitted. "I also think I am a smart player. I dont make any dumb mistakes on the football field and I am not over agressive on defense."
Muheize is just looking for a chance at the division one level. With his stellar play this past year, he certainly deserves that chance.
