Surprised nobody posted anything about this game unless I missed it. Didn't know anything about it until re4ading the paper this morning. Anybody hear anything about Travis's playing time and contribution? I guess it was televised - just not on Montana...

What all-star game are you talking about?

From the Bozeman Chron:
Lulay has been selected to play in the inaugural Magnolia Gridiron All-Star Classic, which will be played today (10 a.m. MST) in Jackson, Miss.
The game features prospects from lesser-known Division I-A schools playing against players from Division I-AA , Division II and NAIA schools.
Lulay was the only Big Sky Conference player selected. His teammates include fellow quarterback Chris Bramell, whose St. Francis (Ind.) team fell to Carroll College last weekend in the NAIA championship game.
Anyone know if there will be a delayed showing on CSTV or ESPNU?

Article from the game (oops! same as doebrmn's link):

Montana State's Lulay was 8-of-14 passing for 90 yards for the Red, while Blayne Baggett of Indiana State was 9-of-21 for 79 yards with a 1-yard touchdown run.
"Any opportunity for a guy from a smaller school ... to play and impress scouts in front of bigger competition, it's a plus for us," Lulay said.

Not a bad day for Travis. Good for him to show off some of his stuff!

I heard the same stats from Gato Sr., but he said TL had an INT as well.

I understood from one article that Travis's INT was with about 10 seconds left in the game, so I suspect it may have been a Hail Mary or a forced pass trying to score at the end of the game.

I believe that is correct.

We had two of our Texas State Bobcats in that game as well but haven't been able to find a stat sheet anywhere to find out how they did, but looks like your former QB did very well. Hopefully he got one to our 6'8" WR Markee White who was one of our players along with DT Travis Upshaw. The worst thing I read about the game however is only 100 people showed up in a stadium that seats 60k. I am not sure this all star game will make it back next season.

Never had a clue about the game or the fact Lulay was in it until the Sat. morning paper. No wonder they had no crowd. If the Beatles had a reunion at MSU and the only ones who knew about happened to be walking by the fieldhouse, it would be a small crowd. Someone dropped the ball on getting word out on this one.

The Sports Nuts were talking about this game, and said it was moved from this week sometime to christmas eve day, on the 23rd. TERRIBLE planning by the people who put it on.
