Recruiting nuggets

Some more interesting items that were forwarded to me. Take them for what you will, as I can't personally verify them (but CYA language aside, I've been assured that they are true):

1-Kramer told Swogger he wasn't a good fit. There was no deadline. Kramer said Swogger was too slow a foot and, get this, 'thinking' for MSU's system. He said he was a good guy and wishes him well.

2- Kramer told Selle that he was looking at Desin, too, during the recruiting process. Selle told Kramer that he wouldn't sign at MSU if Desin was there. Desin told Kramer he just wanted a shot at QB and if it didn't work he'd be glad to play anywhere else.

3- Chambers, the wideout from UW that the egrizzers seem to be hot after, is a 'poison,' according to Kramer.

I couldn't tell you anything about 1 and 3, but I know #2 is true. If Desin did sign here, I knew Selle wouldn't want to come here.

So was he offered a scholarship at MSU??

?? A high school player is dictating to a potential coach how he should recruit???

3- Chambers, the wideout from UW that the egrizzers seem to be hot after, is a 'poison,' according to Kramer.
O for 3 - Doesn’t anyone else find all three statements a little curious?

They don't sound that odd to me.

I don't know if we offered Swogger.

I don't know what Selle said, but if he said anything resembling that, there is your reason he isn't at MSU.

Why is thinking a player would cause trouble for a program curious?

Sounds like Selle's got a little bit of an ego or is afraid to compete against Desin.

1. Don't know ... but would assume not.

2. Recruits are the ones that make the decisions, so yeah, it makes perfect sense that a recruit would let it be known that his decision was going to be impacted by who else was signed.

3. It is what it is.

Instead of "curious," the word you might be looking for is "discouraging."

You’re correct, discouraging for the cats that the GRIZ are getting all these great recruits.

Yeah, we're shaking in our collective boots. Remind me how well all of Hauck's "amazing" recruits played this past year? 16-6, baby. Oh, and a beatdown at home in the first round of the playoffs at the hands of Cal Poly. Hauck and the griz can keep all their crappy recruits and drop-downs, we'll stick with the kids who can actually play.

Can you imagine how difficult it will be to defend the griz if they get Swogger, Chambers, and Bradshaw, then line those two up along with Lex in the backfield? The sheer thought of instituting the "Triple Option Shovel Pass" offense would give Phenecie a coronary!

These are ALL speculation and rumor and should be treated as such. If you form any opinion at all based on those statements then you should be ashamed.

OMG! We're not supposed to believe as gospel all that we read on egriz. Now I'm so confused.

I would agree with the gist of this post. I think everyone should be skeptical of everything they read on a message board, particularly if they can't verify the information independently. This is just information to consider, like all of the other speculation that is on these boards. The person who told me had the information first-hand. I am repeating it second-hand. Each time there is another generation in there, the higher the level of skepticism there should be.

That's right, they actually played all the way up until thanksgiving weekend. Then, they actually sat on their a$$es and watched the playoffs on TV just like every other year.

Hrmph, so the Griz were one of the few teams good enough to loose their last two... big deal.

Since we didn't see anything going downfield, what else is there?

A rake pass?
A hoe pass?
A weed trimmer pass?
A pulaski pass?

Nice day, worked on cleaning up the garage after hunting season.

Would a "hoe pass" be a shovel pass to Lex's stripper girlfriend?

:penalty: That would be a low blow if it was any other school in the country, but since it was the griz, that was pretty darn FUNNY!

If the best smack you have about Lex is his girlfriend- HE MUST BE PRETTY GOOD.

Dont think for a second that Krams wouldnt like to stick him in the kittie backfield.

PS What college guy did not want a stripper????

I think that us CATS will be just fine with one Evin Groves. He can catch over hand passes as well as the shovel pass. He has another 3 years of whipping the griz too!!!

At least our best smack doesn't involve dissing other teams scoreboards or player introductions.
