Some interesting info that was forwarded to me:
Here's some info on Rass, according to his coach. My assessment form hearing Lucey talk is that he sounds like the best player that either MSU or UM will get this year. Lucey says he would've gone to WSU, but WSU just didn't need a qb this year. Bascially feels that MSU stole a I-A player, mainly because he didn't go deep in state playoffs and a little because of broken fibula in jr. year. Also, a kid named Walker (going to UW) was the main man in Wash. Says a lot of kids that aren't near Rass's caliber have gone to I-A schools just because they made the state title game.
Lucey has coached at Curtis for 35 yrs, 30 as head coach and he's sent numerous players off to the PAC-10 and other I-A schools. Mike Price was very interested and ISU came into the picture, but too late. Lucey says Rass really studies the game and takes to coaching with no ego at all. He said he's fast, but is a prototype drop back passer. Will be a great rep for MSU program. Constantly working on his game in weight room and field, do nothing but get better. Don Bailey was the main reason MSU got him. Jay Dumas also played for Lucey at Curtis.

Lucey sounds like the Jack Johnson of Washington. I'm sure he's seen his share of great players, so these are pretty good words coming from him. I can't find a fault with Rasmussen on or off the field based on what I've seen on the Internet and heard from those in the know. He's tall, fast, strong, smart, works hard, doesn't seem to have an ego.

4-7 WSU doesn't need a QB? Also, if he didn't go to WSU because they didn't need a QB this year, does that mean he'll walk in and start at MSU? I'm just not understanding this arguement. I thought the Cats had Carpenter coming in to start? I have seen Kramer say he is the starter going in (at least I think I have), so it would appear the Cats don't need a QB this year either. Not talking smack, just curious if that is an actual reason for not going to WSU.Lucey says he would've gone to WSU, but WSU just didn't need a qb this year.

Maybe because Alex Brink is the current starter then Gary Rogers and Arkelon Hall (who might very well displace Brink) are in the mix. The oldest of the bunch will be a junior. Another is a RS freshmen and the other is a RS Soph I think.DaGriz wrote:4-7 WSU doesn't need a QB? I think it's pretty obvious why WSU didn't need his services.
UW got Jake Locker, arguably one of the best QB's in the nation, so UW passed on him. Oregon has 2 or maybe even 3 QB's who have verballed this year. I"m not sure which schools he was all interested in, but he mentioned specifically that MSU still kept on him despite his injury during his JR year. That apparently spoke volumes to him.

Sounds like our last great QB, except the tall part.iaafan wrote:He's tall, fast, strong, smart, works hard, doesn't seem to have an ego.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.
