2. Spoiler alert, he ain't putting it in his calendar.

I probably came off as a bit of a dick. I’m sorry.

I was thinking it’s fun to cast a wide net long in advance and see what other people are thinking, how they’ve arrived at their pick, etc. that sort of thing. Maybe some people have some insight or an observation everyone else overlooked. Maybe not, but it gives us something to talk about. Maybe we’ll learn something new about one of the players.

I went with Bauman. I know he’s not as athletic as some of the other contenders, but I feel he’s got the physical attributes f nothing else put him right in the mix. I don’t think we’d miss the athleticism at the position if he’s nailing his throws.

The one thing I know for sure is that Coach Choate will put his the emphasis on leadership and who ever he believes the team will rally around the best. We will need a more balanced offense to take the next step.

I think the biggest thing I will remember about Chris Murray is the vast potential and being so very close to having a special year in 2017. Had a chance to beat SDSU, EWU, NAU and KSU. Just one or two fewer mistakes and we are talking about that season for a very long time. I really wish we could have seen that potential play out for another two years and see how much he could have progressed. Good luck Chris! Hope you get it figured out.

Hey, if anyone hasn't started listening to the Ryan's on this podcast, you should check it out! It's nice to get some MSU football centered stuff.

@wbtfg, great job!

Agreed, NAU was one I wanted to mention on the podcast but didn't get around to doing so.

We always had a chance with Murray, I don't think we got blown out. Our biggest loss than year was to a damn good EWU team in Cheney 19-31. When we needed a 3rd and 5, you knew Murray could make it happen with his legs.

Some more thoughts on the Tyrel Burgess news...I just don’t think MSU or div1 football utilizes the flashy smaller backs as feature backs. I was a huge fan of Tavon Dodd and similarly Burgess, but both had similar football paths at MSU. I fell in love with their tape, their shiftiness, etc...but it didn’t translate to the field. I think if they had the touches they would have produced.

As some of you know, we were able to get media credentials for the Big Sky Kickoff in Spokane last week. While @Common Cat didn't quite have the courage to interview Choate, he did cut his interviewing teeth on Kevin Kassis and Jahque Alleyne, and that interview is included in this episode. We also talk about some of the recruits we've signed lately, and our thoughts on the new #41 tradition. Hope you enjoy!

@DriscollCat has graciously volunteered to report on practice and record the media sessions after practice, when available of course. Here is the audio from Bobby Daly and Erik Frazier from after today's practice:
