Packers/Thomas

No news here ... just an observation.

To win the "Homer of the Year" award, I put forth this unbiased observation: It appears to me that the Packers season really, really tanked (as opposed to just one "really") AFTER they made the mistake of releasing Joey. Had he still been on the team, there's no way they would have allowed Baltimore to hang that many TD passes on them. They would have only lost by about 20 or so if Joey had been patrolling the secondary.

That's what they get for making bad personnel decisions. Let's just hope this isn't something that does permanent damage to the entire franchise ... but it probably will.

Packers have had a bad year all round and Thomas just got caught up in the middle. Hopefully he'll work out with the 'Saints'.

Kyle Boller had no such problem as Green Bay's defense was unable to put any significant heat on him. Nor could the Packers stop the run. Jamal Lewis is having one of his worst seasons ever, but against Green Bay he showed flashes of his former ability, piling up 105 yards in 22 carries. The Packers couldn't stop the run and couldn't stop the pass. At times, it looked like defensive coordinator Jim Bates had the perfect play called, and it would backfire. Case in point: The Packers called a corner blitz with Ahmad Carroll that should have resulted in a loss of yardage. What happens? The Ravens run the ball right past Carroll for a big gain. It was that kind of night.

It's the curse of the Joey-ino, I'm tellin' ya! Look forward to the better part of a century of futility, Packer fans!

No the Packers just arent that talented this year, Favre should be traded to the bears so the bears can appear in the super bowl and lose to the colts

Your lack of insight into the inner workings of the NFL is both sad and repugnant.

It's clearly the curse. Clearly. This curse is so intense, it was even able to manifest itself in part before the act was even consecrated. It's powerful medicine.

Are you trying to get banned? This heresy can not and will not be tolerated in this sacred House of Bobcat!

Actually, I should ban you for your spelling in your last sentence. Pet peeve of mine ... had to counsel one of the people who reported to me a couple years ago to remind her that IM spelling wasn't "real" spelling and that it didn't reflect well on our department when she used it in business emails.

Joey was fine, BUT, he wasn't that good. The Packers have other problems to deal with and Joey T isn't the solution sadly.

I think it is the best theory I have heard on why the Packers suck now. If they didn't trade Joey they may be challenging the Colts this year! ;)

Not only will the Packers continue to stink up the field for years to come, but now the Saints will go on to win Super Bowl after Super Bowl.

Looking at the last game, I thought the Packers realized that if they lose out they still have a chance to get Reggie Bush in the draft.
