Here's a prediction on what Durham will say after Portland beats MSU tonight:

"Whoa, they're good. That (fill in player's name here) is tough and they're a well-coached bunch."

Expect to hear that quite a few more times this year.

Portland 78, MSU 70

How about this one... "they out physicalled us, and beat us on the boards. I expect us to come out a pretty determined bunch next game."

Now that is a classic Durham quote, classic. I wonder if Mick ever thought that his kids struggled in the second half due to the other team making adjustments and he didnt? :?

Just so I know in advance, are we "playing up" a division in taking on a WCC school? They are in the same conferece as Gonzaga, after all.

"I thought that we did some really great things out there tonight. we knew coming in that this was going to be a tough, hard-nosed game. this team already has beaten some good teams in oregon state, and santa clara, and really handed a beating to fellow big sky team portland state. i though we had a chance to win this game, but if you'd have asked me this morning if i thought we'd win by 40, i'd have thought you were crazy. although i would have liked to see us score more than 60 points, holding a team like that to 20 points is a great accomplishment. they only scored five field goals in the game, and i'm pretty sure that that is some sort of record. my hats off to this whole team. i'd be lying if i said that casey's triple-double isn't a little more than ja'rons and brandens. you know, just being my son and all. i need to check but i also think that having three guys for the same team in the same game posting triple-doubles is also a record. but i won't forget the other guys either. al had a double-double with a game high 9 blocks. he played very well. and marvin was clearly on a mission tonight. when was the last time we have seen a guy get 32 rebounds? i guess when the other team shot 5-51 from the field, there are a lot of rebounds to get. anyway, i am very happy with where we are right now. we just need to get ready for a very good denver team on thursday, and make sure we are ready to play again."

Misconception. Just because they play in the same conference as Gonzaga does not make them a good team.

That would be like saying someone from the Southland Conference playing Sac St. in football is "playing up" because Sac. State is from the Big Sky and the Griz play in the Big Sky.

Maybe there was sarcasm in your typing that I missed.

This board sure is anti Mic this year. I like it!!!!!

College sports is about $$$. Mic can't or refuses to get the best players and he refuses to support MSU by raising interest in the program and money. I think the sport has left him behind. You can not win with just a point guard who can shoot the 3.

Why should MSU keep him on? ( I need better a reason the clean program or nice guy)

And now, AFTER THE GAME... I was reading the article in the paper this morning. And this is what Mick used as a motivator for the final seconds of the game:

"I said, 'Casey, make it.' " Mick Durham said. "For once, he listened to his dad."

It was pretty funny... or at least I thought it was. I was laughing out loud!

So I guess all of you were WRONG on the quote predictions!!

:) Way to go Cats! Way to pull off the last second play!

Well here you go...

From the Great Falls Trib...

"I'm proud of the rally," said coach Durham. But his Bobcats, picked to win the Big Sky Conference championship, are still struggling to click on all cylinders. Thursday's loss was the first in five home games for the Cats this season.

"I saw some really good things," coach Durham said. "We're getting there ...
