Okay, so I am trying to move past the football seaon and get motivated for basketball. I am hoping this question inpires many responses.

Who do you think was the best Bobcat Dunker ever? Do any dunks stand out?

To answer my own question. Kral Ferch. His rising left hander over a defending Willie Glass in a critical point of the St. Johns/Cats game stands out.

Can anyone top that?

Nico had some impressive ones ... but Ferch's is legendary.

I always loved watching Ray Willis put one down (smaller guy .. major air). Nico Harris's thunder dunk down the middle on Wyoming (in Billings) was another awesome dunk as well. For sheer power dunking I would have to give that to Fellows I bet as he would shake the whole basket/backboard and you could almost hear the plexiglass ready to shatter. Lollis was awesome as well with his back door thunder dunks.

However, Ferch's Tomahawk dunks were very DR J in my opinion and I don't see any past Bobcat topping any of his dunks.

No Question, it is Kral. His brother wasn't too shabby either! I also have to chip in for Quadre and Nico, but Kral wins hands down!

Also, some friends have some highlight tapes from the 80s that were made each year and sent out to the boosters. Does anyone know why they don't do that anymore? Those tapes are awesome!

Kral Frech
Any other answer is wrong - this thread is done.

To take this thread one step further. Best dunk, Kral Ferch over Willie Glass in the NCAA tourney. Period!!!

I agree. No one can touch Kral Ferch. He is #1 in my book. Number 2 to me would have to be Harrison.

Without a doubt, Kral Ferch. He mastered the art of levitation, I've never seen anyone get as much air time as he did on the way to the basket. Incredible!

Kral Firch may be the best dunker as a Bobcat in a game, but I watched Mike Elliot throw one down at a midnight madness practice that would have won an NBA Slam Dunk contest. It was fun to watch that team play with Nico, Quad, and the rest. My best year of college!

Kral Ferch in the NCAA"s against St. Johns. His dunk posterized Shelton "The Amityville Horror" Jones, not Willie Glass. Jones was drafted by the NBA and actually competed in the slam dunk contest.

Are you sure about that I would have bet big money on Willie Glass

By far the best dunker in MSU history is a guy who didn't even make the BBall team. Rodney Ellis, who played football and couldn't quite make the BBall team, was absolutely rediculous. He could jump out of the gym and his dunks were amazing.

Bruce Parker and I had a long converstation about the game a couple years ago and it is pretty common that people think it was Glass. It actually was Shelton Jones.

Larry Chanay, you young pups! One of the main reasons the dunk got outlawed back in the day

Kral was definitely #1; in the NIT first round game vs Washington, I remember he had 1 and Shann had a couple of big throw-downs...

HOWEVER, besides Kral's NCAA feat, the #2 dunk I ever saw was in 1981/82 season; Cats were hosting Portland State. Doug Hashley had just scored his 1000th career point and the crowd was giving him an ovation; the bad news is the team sort of let up for a second to congratulate Doug and Portland State's Jose Slaughter went down the baseline & threw down the most monstrous jam I ever saw in the Brick.
