Who do you think will win the Sky in bball?

I would have loved to have gone with MSU but talent doesn't win it alone.

Even though UM is playing the best basketball in the conference and ISU is good too, I feel that MSU will pick it up and roll toward the dance. So I picked the Cats.

I'm surprised no one else picked ISU. I think they are kind of the darkhorse in the Sky this year, and only time will tell if they can keep it together or not.

That is if the football team doesn't shoot them first.

Nice =D^ I voted for the Griz. I love the way this team is playing & I don't think Krysko will stand for anything less than another trip to the dance.

I had to vote for the Griz.

I will want to vote again after the first time through the conference schedule.

At this point I think Idaho St. has be as good a resume as the Griz, maybe better since they beat Boise St.

ISU has played one road game. Let's wait and see how they look after a few away from Pokey.

Whoever voted for MSU should be embarrassed! They have one of the worst RPI in the country...I think Durham will have to work a miracle to get them out of this slump....

Go Cats!

Is this the smack board?

The Bobcats are still the pre-season favorites according to the coaches and the media. They aren't playing like it, but they return basically the same team that almost won the conference last season. I voted for the Griz in this poll based on the season thus far. That vote may change after the first trip through the conference schedule.

What is completely unsurprising is that in a thread in which the Griz are getting a lot of respect from the 'Cat fans, one Griz-hole has to come in and obliterate any goodwill.

When did I ever say smack? I was making a point and backing it up...I would give the cats all the credit that we are getting from cat fans right now if you didnt beat carrol by one point. Not taking anything from carrol cause i realize they have a very talented team but for a team predicted to win their conference to come within one point of them at home....

Go Cats

First off Swilly, you need to get your facts straight. We beat Carrol by a 3 pointer at the buzzer.

Second, RPI has no effect on whether or not we get into the field of 65. All the Cats need to do is win the conference tournament and they are there (I am not making excuses for our poor OOC schedule, just stating facts).

So, basically what you said was erronious.

This year is different than years past. The team has faded from the start. Usually, that happens at the end of the season. Maybe this year is different. I think they have better players and athleticism this year compared to last year. Apparently, though, they have less team chemistry.

I pick NAU.

Man, someone must have gone over to the grizboards and told them all to come over here and vote for UM. Right now there is NO clear cut favorite in the BSC. Literally, anyone can win it.

Here's my Big Sky Projected Standings-

Montana
Sacramento State
Montana State
Weber State
Idaho Sate
Eastern Washington
Northern Arizona
Portland State

Big Sky Tourney
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
(3)Montana State over (6)Eastern Washington
(4)Weber State over (5) Idaho State

(2) Sacramento State over (3) Montana State
(4) Weber State over (1) Montana *Upset Special*

(2) Sacramento State over (4) Weber State

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

(2) Villanova over (15) Sacramento State

Keep in mind though that the better team does not always make it into the dance (see the Griz last year). It is usually the hottest team come tournament time. March Madness baby!

Thus far, the Cats are a joke, an absolute joke

The only D-1A win they have this year is against 0-11 UNC, and it took a fluke game from a kid off the bench to spark that one. Their other 2 wins came against NAIA teams, one of which took a buzzer beater at home to get the W. :? I dont care how good Carroll is, if MSU was truly as good as Durham and some others say, this should have been a 15 point walking away victory.

People say wait until conference gets going... why? Non-conference schedule is as weak as it gets, and nearly this entire team was in Bozeman all last season. Why should we have to wait for this team to start gelling? Besides that, they've got 8 games (not counting exhibition) under their belts... its time to start playing some hoops. Quit making excuses for this bunch of underachievers, their time has to come right now.

Saying that, I have not stopped supporting this team, but I am fuming mad and completely disappointed! Especially since Durham compared this team to the '96 team - now that is one of the most obsurd comparisons I have ever heard. This team doesnt have a floor leader like Hatler, it doesnt have a go to guy like Lollis, it doesnt have a playmaker like Nico, it doesnt have a sharp shooter like Sprinkle, it doesnt have a role player like Leachman, it doesnt have a workhorse like Holmsteadt.... The '96 team would humiliate this so called championship caliber team!

:goodpost: One minor correction...in basketball it is DI, nothing else. We are all DI teams.

Everyone needs to understand that it is just DI. It is not that hard to understand. Too many people call it I-A.
