Again we find another way to suck. God we're playing like sh*t. We are now down 12. Go figure.

We lose 75-73. I have to admit I barely listen to road games anymore. There's pretty much a 90% chance they're gonna lose-so what's the point? I'm surprised it was close-but Green Bay is struggling and starting 3 freshmen.
This team needs to get home and try to retool for conference.

We shot 50% from the free throw line tonight. Is it really that freaking hard to make a free throw? I can shoot better than that, and I'm dead serious about that. I think there needs to be at least one practice a week that is about 2 hours of nothing but free throws. We need to fix this problem or we will not win anymore games.

Hey, it doesn't matter. We only want to win conference games, anyway. Winning nonconference games is just showing off.

This is getting ridiculous...just when it looked like they had it turned around after the Colorado trip, we go out and barely beat Carroll and lose to a team who starts not one, not two, but THREE freshmen. Meanwhile, the Griz keep on winning against actual opposition as opposed to Wayland Baptist and a winless D-1 team. I've tried to stay off the "Fire Durham" bandwagon, but come on Mick!!! A team with this much talent has no excuse to be playing like this, period.

EWU, ISU, PSU, and montana all won tonight...on the road! So I guess it can be done.

I'm a little concerned-Derrick Edmonds might be getting the shaft. He got 1 minute tonight-despite some of our other guards not getting a whole lot done in many minutes.

These close games on the road are hard to swallow. It shows this team has the talent to win away from the friendly confines of Worthington Arena. They've got another chance against Wyoming next week, then we play D-I games at home through mid-January. But if we are going to win the Big Sky conference, as expected, we need to win away from home. I can only say we're taking steps toward winning every game for so long. I'm not ready to start firing the coaches and so on, but come on, we need to win.
GO CATS!
It's always a good day to be a Bobcat fan!

Miller was 2-11 from 3, and the team shot 11-22 from the line. Theres your ballgame.
Eric Curry
STILL makes me sad.

You're absolutely correct. FREE THROWS WIN BALL GAMES! I don't understand why there isn't more focus on free throws! 50% is horrible... unexceptable! There are NO excuses for missing eleven free throws in ANY game!
A good basketball team should always be above 85% in the free throw department.

I think 85% is unrealistic for a whole team. I agree that we need to start making our free throws if we want to have a chance to win
any games the rest of the year, but I would set my expectations for the team at about 70%.

We must be the laughing stock of the BSC right now. I know that it makes no difference if the others win or not, but they are the measuring sticks that we use to see how our team will stackup. Right now I don't see us in the upper echelon of the league. The guy from Portland that said that the consensus was that we were overrated may have been right. Maybe we just surprised people the first couple weeks last year and then held serve through our home season long enough to take second in a very weak league. Everyone else got stronger and we stayed the same. Maybe we could take second in last year's league again. This may be a case where we couldn't get any better because we have the same players.

I don't think 85% is asking too much for a college basketball team. I think expectations should be set higher than 70% (in my own opinion). I would expect 70% out of a high school team...
So let me post what I think expectations should be for the following:
Jr. High- 50% and higher
Highschool- 70% and higher
College- 80-90%
NBA- 90-100% **
**These guys are getting paid to make free throws, so there is no excuse. They are "professionals"!
Like I said, this is my own opinion and I realize that there are "off" days, but I think this is what the average should be at these levels. I don't care if no one else agrees with me... I think that if you expect your team to do well, and perform like champions they just might play like champions. If you expect them to give a "C" performance, that's probably what you're going to get!

Also...these are SENIORS for gosh sakes! Every one of them should be able to shoot 80%!

Guys, I understand what you are saying, but the fact of the matter is that very few college or professional teams shoot better than 70-75% from the free throw line as a team. Now, we should definitely expect our guards to shoot about 80%, but I think it is completely unrealistic to expect much better than that - for ANY college team.

Come on guys it's early in the season........
However, the one thing I see repeated from last year and I didn't like the trend in your team last year was the 3 point shooting. You need to develop a inside game, period. If you don't do that it's going to be a long, long season.
