Is this kid being recruited? I beleive he was the AA defensive MVP. Why hasn't anyone talked about this kid? He has great size for a HS linebacker, must have some talent. Doesn't Capital have a few MSU alums on the coaching staff (Lee Carter)?

I've heard his name mentioned here and on egriz a couple times, but apparently nobody knows very much. He sounds like a player, but there must be something more than that.

Maybe he could follow in Daly's footsteps. :)

I hope we are recruiting him. His size is awesome and I would hate to see him go to another team other than us. I think we need more and more Montana talent and he is just another example.

He's getting a look from both MSU and UM. I'd think MSU would have a slight advantage with Daly and Beniger on the roster. I don't think UM has any Capital guys. Daly's dad and Lee Carter (CHS asst. coaches) are both ex-Bobcats.

I really like this guy. I watched the state championship game between Capital and West and I thought e looked pretty good out there on the field. I really like Capital's RB as well. I dont remember his name but he was big and he was an excellent runner.

Dustin is a GREAT kid. I know his older brother pretty well, and any team would be lucky to have Dustin on the roster.

Over on egriz, loyalgriz was saying that dustin has been in contact w/ both UM and MSU but no one had offered him a scholarship as of yet. He also said that Dustin was leaning towards a career in Pharmacy so we may be seeing him w/ the griz.....if they offer.

He is also one heck of a basketball player.

Well Kitty fans, this is how it works in Helena. First, many of Helena's young talented football players play ball while attending CRA middle school, the CRA Cubs.

Those players that are good enough for the next level, move on to high school. All the Cubs move on to the Bruins at Capital High. Both schools are on the westside of town.

When a Capital High Bruin is worthty of playing at the next level, they naturaly go to the next level, college football.

Which progresion seems more logical to you Kitty box fans.

Cubs, Bruins, Bobcats, or

Cubs, Bruins, Griz.

The Cubs at CRA Middle School, which is a block away from my house, normally beleive the normal progresion is to the Griz. Draw your own conclusions.

I guess Wyoming is in the picture now. From what I've been told he wants to go to pharmacy(?) school. And I understand UM offers something in that area. So that would give UM the edge.

We already know he is looking into pharmacy. But Wyoming being in the mix is interesting.

Cubs, Bruins, Bobcats, or

Cubs, Bruins, Griz?

I would say for most players from Capital High School it would be Cubs, Bruins, Caroll College.

I wouldn't say there is a bias to the Griz at Capital. Lee Carter an assistant coach played for the Cats. Jeff Tuss was a starting qb for MSU.

Jason Crebo and others played for the Griz.

I think it has been balanced between the programs.

I graduated from CHS, there wasn't a favorite either way. The players I knew that went on were happy to get a scholarship.

If you want to go a little ways back how's about:
Lonnie Burt, Scott McFarland, Shane Maharg and Derek Dedrickson. Dedrickson was a walk on I think who didn't make it. Not sure as to what or why Shane never made it. I also graduated from Captial (89).

Shane started for the Cats at linebacker...I work with him and he follows them pretty closely!

I don't remember Shane starting, but remember him being an animal back in high school. Very good player who was the AA Defensive MVP and I believe got some All-American mentions as a senior at Captial.

Anyway, back to Dustin..........

Interesting to come back and look at the comments made by mquast 53000, GavinDonos, catmanaran, ande Helcat72. Check your facts out folks before you shoot your mouths off. Google CR Anderson, Helena, and you will find that the school paper is called Cub News!!! What is your problem? By the way, whoever posted that they couldn't remember that Shane Maharg ever started for the Cats ought to check their facts as well. Do you people just rant and rave and never check the facts before you post????
