Rolovich
So its official...here is the link to the story in the Honolulu Star Bulletin:
http://starbulletin.com/2005/12/08/sports/notebook.html
It sounds like Mike Bass is happy with the way he was treated by the Cats. That's good. Maybe he can send some more ex-Rainbow drop-downs our way.

"Former UH running back Mike Bass helped recruit Rolovich to Montana State. Bass, a senior in 2005, played in six games for the Bobcats, accounting for 308 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns.
"He said he loved it over there, even though the climate is a little different," Rolovich said. "The offense has some of the same concepts as UH except they run the ball a lot more. I wanted to stay in the West and their quarterback is a senior," Rolovich said."
I'm glad Bass enjoyed his stay!

Glad to see him coming. If he can beat out Carpenter for the position, he's a very good QB, because I'm impressed with Carpenter. Thanks to Bass for his help, and I agree fully with the "huge" linemen prospects.
FTG!!

Rolovich sounds like he has his head screwed on pretty tight in this story that was done before he selected a school. He sounds honest with himself and doesn't seem to hold an grudge.
Not only did it help to have Bass at MSU, but with Jerry Glanville at UH probably didn't hurt either.
ROLOVICH WILL TRANSFER TO I-AA SCHOOL
Quarterback Jack Rolovich said he will transfer to a Division I-AA school, a move that will allow him to play during the 2006 season. He said he is considering UC Davis, Montana, Montana State and Eastern Washington.
If he transferred to another Division I school, he would have to redshirt in 2006, according to NCAA rules. There is no waiting period for a player transferring to a lower division.
"I want to be back in there," said Rolovich, a third-year sophomore. "I don't even know what it's like to throw a touchdown anymore. That's the reason I came out here, to play football. I didn't really feel like I was getting an opportunity to play."
Last week, Rolovich requested a release from his football scholarship, an action that would allow him to talk to other football teams. Jones signed the release Wednesday. Rolovich will remain on scholarship through the end of this semester.
"I totally enjoy Hawai'i," Rolovich said. "I'm not content with just going to school. It was nothing against the program or the guys. I love the guys. I love it out here. But I don't think I'm going to play. The only time I would play is if Colt (Brennan, the starting quarterback) were to get hurt, and I would never want that to happen. Colt's my friend. I would never wish him to get hurt. I'd rather go and try to compete again somewhere else."

If we are going to get more drop downs from a 1-A college I sure hope they are out of the PAC-10 not the WAC.duelalumnicat wrote:Maybe he can send some more ex-Rainbow drop-downs our way.

How about some good players from both conferences? So far a QB and WR. I'm thinking another WR and an off. linemen or two would finish off the transfers.

I think regardless of whether or not he produces on the field, this is a good get. At the very least it will create some competition and we will be watching the best QB on the field when the season rolls around.
That being said, you don't get recruited to Hawaii if you aren't a gunslinger. This could be a good get/
