We also got the word that a QB from Hawaii is coming to Bozeman... Two years left to play for us.

Good to hear. I'm not sure if he'll be the starter or not, but at least Carpenter will have some competition, and we know that we'll have a capable backup no matter who wins the postions.

As you can tell, I don't have a ton of confidence in Coppack.

Is there a link that states this anywhere with some sort of certainty?

I assume you are talking about Rolovich. Is he coming for a visit or has he actually agreed to transfer?

If this is true (I have no reason not to believe Brick), this is a much better pick up than Swogger. Two years left to play, will push Carpenter and Coppack and allow a younger QB to develop (Desine and hopefully Larson).

Any word on Larson?

GO CATS!!

I don't want Rolovich. I would have rather had Swogger, but neither if it were up to me. Carpenter needs to start this year and next and we need to get Larson. I think we have to get him. He should start when Carpenter leaves.

The nation is brutal if the cats lose. So to say Carpenter should start because he has been here for three years doesn't mean if the Cats lose, the same people will not get all over Kramer.

We know very little about the Hawaii kid, who has seen him play? and Kramer and the coaches have been watching Carpenter and Coppack in practice every day. So I think they are fairly knowledgible as to evaluating who and what.

Accept these additions as pluses. Not all will work, but the coaches (who I respect) do think they are reasonable to upgrade the team and keep it at the same level or higher.

I do think they will bring in a Freshman QB to redshirt. That may or may not be Larsen. Not sold that Larsen is a QB for a top 10 Div-IAA team. Might be, but that is his choice to work hard for, not just be given it.

I also hope Carpenter is the one who ends up starting. I just think that Rolovich is a better pick up at QB than Swogger because he is younger. If Swogger does come in and ends up beating out Carpenter, then I am fine with that. I want the best player playing that gives this team the best chance to win.

GO CATS!!

I hope whichever one is the best QB will end up starting! I have zero problem with bringing in Rolovich to compete with Carpenter and Coppack for the starting job.

Excellent News!! A little competition at QB will be good for everyone. Lets bring in one more young QB(LARSON PLEASE?) and we will be heading in the right direction at QB.

I agree that the competition factor is key here. I hope all our prospects double their efforts this winter, spring, and summer capping off in an excellent fall.

May the best man win.

I agree totally with this move. Although I am rooting for Carpenter to take over this team. No team should just hand over the keys to someone just because they have been patiently waiting their turn for 2 years while someone graduates. Kramer's job is to put the QB on the field that gives him the best chance to win. Competition will be very good for this team for the spring/fall and will keep everyone more focused. I do hope Carpenter comes through though and is our starter this year (and a good one).

I don't understand why anyone would hope one player would start over another. I'd just hope that whoever's better starts. If Carpenter is real good, but Coppack or Rolovich is better, then I'd want one of those two to start. The better of the two of course. Better is better. I really believe that.
Another thing I don't understand (obviously you can do what you want) is why anyone would post that they don't like a player that just transferred. Nice Welcome Wagon.

Whoever the starter is, it will be rough for them. Travis left big shoes to fill, and it will take all of the collective Bobcat Nation's will to let the new QB develop without too much "longing for the old days".

That being said, I still have high expectations for the team as a whole. However, my expectations for individual positions, and position groups, will be different for next year than they were this year.

Can you imagine how much more difficult this off-season would be if EG hadn't given us a glimpse of our future running game?

WHEW!

I totally agree. It was comical this year watching the "QB controversy" they had going on down the Interstate. Washington did not perform very well early in the season and all of a sudden all the armchair QB's in Griz Nation were convinced that Cole Bergquist was the better QB and should be starting. Bobby was just playing Washington because he promised him the starting spot to get him there. Sure thing. Bobby was more concerned with playing his guy and keeping a promise (I'm guessing Bobby didn't really promise anything) than winning games. Trust me people - he started the best QB the Griz had at the time, and while I'm not crazy about Bobby he does know more (just like Kramer) than 99.99% of the fanbase about football and judging QB's. When JW went down and CB became the man it bacame pretty evident that JW was the best they had, and he wasn't that good. The point of this rambling post... Kramer will start the guy that gives of the best shot of winning - and he will positively know better than any of us - who the best guy is, regardless of what we may see in the games.
