Moderators unfair?

So im starting to get a little pissed off, the moderaters have taken two of my previous posts down, granted the first one was a little over the edged, but who knows maybe he did go into porn, nobody else was posting, so i had to do something, then i decided to make it a little better by apologizing, then longhorn started verbally harrassing me, this did not bother me too much, i try not to take things i read on the internet too personally because most of the stuff out there is fake anyhow. Which is another reason my first post should have been left, the only reason i did it was because it would get people talking, "NO HE ISNT GAY HE ACTUALLY DID THIS..." i was only trying to help longhorn out. Then he decides to take matters into his own hands and requests that i be banned, i would like to add that i also recieved a PM from him saying that i was gay and recieve...use your imagination...anyway, i did not appreciate that. As for the 'posting war' that occured, it was only in an effort to get the thread going, i have seen much worse posts than what longhorn and i where posting. I am highly dissappointed in the way the moderators handled the situation, i expect they will ban me because they are all a bunch of wankers who are too afraid to confront the parties involved, privately and ask nicely to remove the posts. Had they asked me to remove my post i would have gladly removed or edited my post. Also i think it was dumb that longhorn did not get his thread removed, he was equally responsible for what happened, he could have PMed the moderators instead of harrasing me and making personal shots at me. I did apologize though, so i leave it up to you....the readers, to decide what should be done...moderators, leave it to us to figure this one out. Dont get involved, i have not done anything wrong unless expressing my freedom of speech is wrong, or unless expressing my opinion on a FORUM is wrong, either way, i think this could have been handled a little differently.

WOW!! First off posting that someone was gay based on no fact is a vaild reason for deleting a post. Second, did you let any moderator know that you were being harassed via private messages? I know I never received anything.

And calling us a bunch of wankers? How old are you? I am gladly going to leave this up to let the others on this board vote and let us moderators know how they feel.

I will say this...it is our board and we make the rules take it or leave it. If you want to spend a good portion of your free time creating a board for others get to it, otherwise don't come here and ruin what we have spent countless hours on.

i apologize for calling you a bunch of wankers. And as i explained in the thread, i understand why my first post was taken off, it was uncalled for, however, like i said, nobody else was posting anything, i just wanted to throw an outrageous comment out there to get things started. I now know that you know that longhorn was quite hurtful in his PM, i expect a punishment is in line, perhaps the one he set forth for me...BANISHMENT! I dont think you should go that extreme, but i do think you should rethink what you are doing, i am simply posting on a forum-a group discussion in which opinions are shared and discussed. Might i point out the word opinion, if i want to express my opinion on a website designed for this purpose, i will. i do believe that covers pretty much everything, so i think all that is left is to discuss what longhorn has coming to him. i have been punished and confronted, now i think he needs to be confronted, what better place then here, especially since my posts were deleted the second time for simply apologizing and then defending my self. It was rediculuos the way longhorn reacted to my apology.

I dont think people should keep telling me to "go away" and "get Lost" it is not right, i apologized for my acionts, and i am only requesting that longhorn recieve consequences for his actions. after he recieves his punishment i will be pleased. Until then i am simply discussing the incident, in a professional manner, i think you all should do the same.

I have no idea what happened so I won't comment until I get the story.

I do believe some regular posters on this site get away with some out of line comments, but they make so many rational, well thought out posts that they have earned the right to step out of line once in a while. They have earned respect and the right to make some brash statements.

You, on the other hand, are new, and first impressions are the most important. If you got on the mods or any other posters bad side within your first day or two of joining the site, you deserve to take some flak.

That is the way message boards work. You have to earn respect and credibility. Why? Because we are a community. Online chums. Insult one of us, and you are insulting a lot of us.

Show respect and you'll receive it.

If you want to become a thoughtful, insightful poster on this site, I suggest everyone make up and you should explain your intentions to do so. If you are here just to stir things up, as you said, then you aren't going to last long.

Seriously....if you can't handle people telling you to go away, this isn't the place for you. You know you stirred the pot and people will be upset and on your case. Longhorn received a warning just like everyone else who has made personal comments. If they continue to happen we will take further action.

When I finally decided to start posting on BobcatNation, I told myself that I would only post if it would bring thoughtful insight to the world of Bobcat Athletics. It's also permissible to have a little bit of fun and most certainly possible to make a quip or a joke here and there. But name calling is just flat out not called for unless it's in the smack talk section, and there again in good fun. BobcatNation is too good of a place to screw it up by petty name calling. The moderators do a good job with keeping things in line here. So come on people, let's keep BobcatNation as the place to discuss Bobcat Athletics intelligently, not just a place where people argue just to insult each other.

I honestly think the moderators do an EXCELLENT job. You really have to FU - UP to get kicked off and then you usually get fair warning. They remove posts or move them as they see fit. This is a thankless tough job and they are doing it as well as could be expected. You have to let a lot of stuff go or the site would get stale but you have to preserve some small amount of fairness and integrity. They got after me once and I deserved it. Plus they were very fair and professional in how they did it. If you are not happy don't blame the Moderators!

I never blamed the moderators, i simply said they did an inadequate job, but thats just like, my opinion man. i have a different attitude than some of you. When i start a conversation with someone, its usually about something stupid that will get people angry, then i brush it off as a joke, a f*cking joke, thats what the hackett comment was, and that was my intentions, its who i am, and if you want to descriminate, do so, ill see you all in hell then.
