Travis Lulay cemented his place in Bobcat history Thursday, earning First Team Division I Academic All-America honors
Travis Lulay earned First Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America honors Thursday, becoming the fifth Bobcat honoree in the last five years and capping his spectacular career in fitting fashion.

Lulay became joins Ryan Johnson and Jon Montoya, who each earned First Team honors twice, as Academic All-Americas during the Mike Kramer era. "That's pretty cool," Lulay said of receiving one of college athletics' top awards. "That's a great honor."

Mike Kramer was more effusive. "This is a tremendous honor for an outstanding person, a tremendous student, and as good a player as this program has produced," MSU's sixth-year head coach said. "Travis embodies and exemplifies the concept of student-athlete, and I don't think his credentials would have properly reflected his career without this honor."

Lulay threw for over 2,800 yards this year, and finished his career with the second-highest number of total offense yards in Big Sky Conference history. He holds all MSU career passing records but one.
