How to know when the griz are getting kicked!!!

This is not meant to be smack but I am sure it will end up there. I am referring to when my stomach relaxes, that comfortable feeling you get after a while. Here is my list.

1. Offensive line is up off the ground before the defensive. Gennerally also tells who was on top of who. I noticed this about end of the first quarter.

2. Wasn't able to tell that there were more than the 10 or so griz fans, that sat in my area, in the stadium. No noise

3. The reaction of the griz players on the sidelines. They were pretty out of it early.

4. After watching Cole's first 3 pass plays. I no I am reinventing the wheel here but he looked like a sophmore... in high school out there. I had watched him on TV but couldn't really tell.

5. At halftime when the excuses were flying from the griz unfaithful. The feild is wet, the sky is blue, we aren't winning so screw you. (I am sure this is kind of the way some of them feel about it.)

Yep, I noticed all 5 of these topics as well. The one that really really shocked me was #2. They were noisy for one series and then when it went to 7-0 they all were QUIET. Half of the Griz fans that were in our group didn't even come back up into the stands after halftime. VERY VERY FICKLE FAN BASE!

The field was too wet, we didn't have the right cleats, we didn't have our red bull, the sun was too bright. I've heard it all this week from Griz fans at the office. It is way too funny.

I've remarked on the griz fans at the game to my friends all week. That was the quietest I have ever (not) heard them. They were an insult to the term "fan." Even when our team was driving down into the south endzone, hardly any noise was being made. Pathetic... and I'm still laughing about it. Maybe they were too intimidated by all the big bad mean buttons that all the Cat fans were wearing!

It might be loud in Washington Griz, but I think someone better check for some speakers (artificial sound) somewhere after seeing their fans in Bozeman. It's no wonder their team laid an egg, their fans did as well :).

A couple of thoughts (to try and avoid the thread being moved to smack talk)

The noise in the our cat stadium just isn't as loud as the Griz stadium. Their stadium being enclosed keeps the sound in and the Fans are actually closer to the field. Ours, the sounds goes out and up. Easy way to tell is you can hear the noise on your side, but the other side isn't as loud? If the stadium has the end enclosed, the noise level will go up and up. So the Griz fans will not sound as loud in our stadium with 20,000 less fans than they do up in theirs

On the Griz players. I didn't see any quit. They kept working and working to their credit. I didn't see on their sidelines any quit either. I think it shows disrespect to their players to say they quit, that they do not deserve. Saenz is a great example, he was taken off multiple times with pain and came back over and over. He has the heart of a lion. So I don't agree with that assesment. Can't say about their fans, most of the people in the house were Cats. The end zone had some good noise at times, but it was lost in the open air stadium.

The Cat fans helped a huge amount, but the players started out tough and kept a very high intensity on both Offense and Defense. The Defense in particular stepped up big time and were very consistent. We played 8 or 9 in the box, contained the corners and made a freshman QB beat us with just average WRs against our improved DBs (Hunter was a stud). Our OL showed they were all-conference as an entire group. The Griz did not need to blitz often in past games because their DL is very good with Murphy and Saenz. Bolton and Fig manhandled Saenz (he had to limp off multiple times only to return to his credit - again no quit in that stud) and Jensen dominated Murphy (no sacks and only one tackle from a preseason all-american, when was the last game he had this type of totals?). There were no sacks allowed and the team gained 200 yards rushing. That means the OL did something very well.

The Cat players came through big time (and were healthy for one of the first times this year). The Fans helped, but the players played with heart and soul.

I totally agree...also it is difficult to rush the passer on a slippery field and the passing game is helped by the fact that receivers cut and DB's have to react. all in all the Griz played very well in that they stopped us on a lot of short yardage plays. I believe that Travis and the senior receivers were the difference along with Evin Groves who figured out how to run on the slippery field and a coaching staff who designed plays to work on that type of surface.

I was not referring to the griz quitting. Just that they were not as eager to get ready for the next play. Our guys were breaking the huddle and jogging to the line of scrimmage where the griz were walking to the line. I have been on both sides when I played, and I am sure Quast has been there also. It is something you really can't control it just goes with the momentum and after you are fighting the momentum for so long it just seems to overcome you if you haven't been able to make the momentum switch in your favor.

I was more referring to their fans quitting which they did. It was not lost to the open air because when they yelled you could hear them. From quarter 2-4 they weren't even doing anything but staring in disbelief. MSU just completely manhandled them, plain and simple. And I agree on Saenz .. he is quite the gamer coming back in and playing as well as he did. The pack of SDSU fans last year were a lot louder than the 2000 Griz fans in the south endzone. They cheered the whole darn game and were loud. Very impressive I thought.
