What is going on here. I checked our results on the MSU homepage and we have lost to UI-Chicago, AK-Anchorage (Div II) and Lamar. I thought we were supposed to be pretty solid. Can anyone give me a rundown of what happened....food poisoning, the bus hit an Alaskan moose, strep throat???

I also am very disappointed in our number one ranked team in the BSC.

I would share my opinion, but I have promised myself to wait until the season is over before I make any negative statements about the basketball program. Hopefully things get turned around and it was just a little slip-up at the start of a very great season.
GO CATS!

Seems that they always start out slow...then pick up momentum...

They seem to shoot themselves right out of a game, whether they are behind by a few points or ahead by a few points....can't seem to win in pressure situations because of the "free lance" offensive philosophy.

By the time the season opener hits we'll be looking very good. This team is full of hired guns that will test the system until something like this weekend happens.
If you remember, we had quite a tumultuous start last year and the team was beaten bad at the beginning before the season began.
Mick has his work cut out for him.
I just don't think this is a Bobcat team that will fade away as the season is ending (which we've seen enough of)

Why?

Our bench is stronger than in the past.
We are (or should I say could be) more versitile on offense. We can go inside with Beye, Morris or Moss. Scoring doesn't come from just one or two people.
And ....I'm an opptomist.

I can't remember a year were we didn't have potentially dominate big men and never used them. So your one point about being able to go inside is valid but I can almost guarantee you we wont.

Go away, troll.
BTW, It was AK - Fairbanks, not AK - Anghorage. Fairbanks is D-1 Independant.

They are DII, see the job security thread.

There's no excuse to lose to a D-II team, even though you're at their place. Alaska was just a bad trip and expect them to improve to 1-3 after playing Wayland Baptist at 2:05 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 27) afternoon. I don't see this 0-3 start as a problem, last year they were 1-6 before taking off. It's best to learn the lesson from this trip and put it in the past.

Ahh. ESPN had them listed as D-I. See this link
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/clubhouse?teamId=298
Note the "Non-NCAA Division I" in parenthesis after the team name in the scoreboard.
Buuut, in the list of teams on the righthand side is Missouri Rolla, an UM-Western, both D-II teams.
That really pisses me off that we lost to a D-II.
