Yeah, I think they ended up finishing second after being slaughtered by the Bobcats on SaturdayWolfman wrote:should be noted that Saenz is the only Griz defender on the first team. My fellow Griz fans boasted about how great the defense was, then get only one player on the first team "D". Is it true that the Griz defense did not finish the Big Sky season in first place in total defense? I thought I heard that somewhere.
The Griz were 3rd to last (In front of Weber and NAU) in yards/game on defense, and 3rd place (behind EWU and MSU) in yards/play. UM was also 3rd to last in total offense (in front of NAU and SAC)....It looks like Bobby really has them playing.Wolfman wrote:should be noted that Saenz is the only Griz defender on the first team. These state are from the 7 conference conference games. It doesn't take into account non-conference games. I thought that would level the playing field a little.wbtfg wrote:The Griz were 3rd to last (In front of Weber and NAU) in yards/game on defense, and 3rd place (behind EWU and MSU) in yards/play. I see that playoff bound Georgia Southern padded their defensive stats by giving up 42 points to SDSU. UC Davis beat Stanford this year, but they couldn't get by the Jackrabbits. Nothing wrong with having SDSU on the schedule -- as MSU did last year.Wolfman wrote:The non-conference games the Griz played helped their defense. They padded their defensive stats against Ft. Lewis and SDSU. Griz fans were holding out hope that the Griz defense could be good enough to offset the worst offense in all of college football. WRONG!
