Yes, we didn't get it done on Saturday at EWU but now it's time to put that behind us and focus on beating the GRIZ this coming Saturday. This program has come a very long way under Coach Kramer! He has done so much all the way around to bring this program back to respectablility. The staff and players have earned our support and we can't let up!!! Saturday can be a great day with a win over the GRIZ and also a day to say THANK YOU to those seniors who have given us some fantastic moments. They whole team and coaching staff have given their all in countless hours of dedication and hard work. The ball doesn't always bounce the way we want it too but we have so much to appreciate about.

Weneed to stay the course, show our appreciateion and end this year on a positive note with a win overthose Grizzlies!

:goodpost: Well said. We can finish this season on a high note and say goodbye to a lot of seniors who can go 3-1 vs. the Griz and helped to pull this program from 0-11 to a contender every year.

Maybe the best thing for this coming weekend is to come out and play "for the fun of it" ! With all the quotes about , "we know what this week is for", and we played like it was "for the fun of it".

Take all the pressure off. No expectations. We are in this game to have fun and bid adieu to Lulay and the seniors. BTW: We NEED to all show up and support this gang for their contributions over the last 3-4 years. They have turned the program from bust-to-almost good enough and that have won 2 of the last 3 from the Griz.

Bravo Seniors.

Anything is better than the days of Hysell, and knowing there wasn't a snowballs chance in he77 of stopping the streak :(

Go Cats!

1) we still have the playoffs at stake
2) if we dont have the playoffs at stake i bet it would make tl feel good that he knocked out the griz from playoff contention *3rd place in big sky*

1. Unfortunately probably not true
2. Fortunately not true. Win or lose Griz are in.

Hells,

You know as well as I do that even if the cats win Saturday they're outside looking in at the playoffs and the Griz are in no matter what.

I agree Hells, my point is simple-- Whenever we have a "must win" game wtih tough expectations around it, this team is not ready to play. PsyOps would suggest that maybe reverse psychology is in order.

Why not, "play for fun" and beat the stuffin' out of the teddy bears? My point.

The thing is that didn't work last year why would it work this year? I'm thinking the cats may come out flat again.

Great Post. I totally agree. The kids need to come out and play the game to have fun and beat their hated rival. We NEED EVERYONE'S SUPPORT this weekend and go out on top to end the season against the GRIZ. Remember, the 12th man is HUGE when you play at home and the louder we are, the less the Griz can audible up at the line. This means it must be LOUD on 1st/2nd/3rd downs this weekend. I like what I saw of our run defense this past weekend (except the QB breakouts etc). We did a pretty good job overall against the run (running backs) this weekend with a huge threat of Meyer rolling out/passing/running etc. Berquist is going to be a pretty good QB, but he is no where near Meyer yet as far as being that dangerous. We need the CROWD/D to get on him immediately and hit him in the mouth. Then get the ball back and score some points this week.

BE THERE .. BE LOUD!

GO CATS!

It is because we are at home in front of our fans. They will be hyped up (fans and players) ready to go! We can still win the Big Sky Championship :)

I would love to be on the selection committee when they discuss the Griz at large bid...."The Griz got shelled by the Cats 42-9. Why should we pick the Griz over the Cats? One fewer overall loss? The Cats almost beat OU. The Griz got spanked by Oregon. Oh you say 1-AA could make an extra $150,000 by picking the Griz over the Cats. Ok, let's pick the Griz even though half of the starting offense won't play for the rest of year due to the Cats defense hitting them too hard."

It's great to see that not all the cat fans have lost their sense of humor!

vic

which would have the most effect

a win against the #4 team in the country
or a loss on the road to the #21 team in the country

besides what happened to this talk of all we need to do is to win either at eastern or against the griz?

HB,

I'm sorry to break this to you, but we're out.

Think about it; if we beat the Griz, EWU gets the autobid and will be 7-4 AT BEST (they could very well lose to UC Davis which gets them in with a 6-5 record). Even if they lose to the Cats, the Griz will get in because of their 8-3 record and their ability to generate $$$ for the NCAA.

So, a Bobcat win Saturday means the Eagles & the Griz are in; given that, there is NO WAY the committee is going to invite the 7-4 Cats when that would require them to NOT invite a # of 8-3 teams.

I gave us about a 10% chance of making the playoffs with a loss to Eastern & a win over the Griz, but that required us, IMO, to at least be competitive with the Eagles. Any committee member who watched our performance Saturday night (except P. Fields) immediately crossed our name off their list.

HB,

What he said pretty much covered it. I don't know where you heard that a win over Eastern OR the Griz would have gotten you into the playoffs. The last couple of weeks have been fairly clear you needed to win both. Maybe if EWU had dropped another conference game?

Oh well. The BIG ONE is still ahead! :D

1) we have fields on the comittee that has to be worth somthing...right?
2) which would have the most impact on our rankings...a loss at eastern or a win against the #4 team in the land...

look i know you have been saying that the griz have been overrated all i am saying here is we still have one last shot to get in

Not really, he can't even be in the room while they are discussing Montana State as a contender.

While with a win we will still technically be eligible per the guidelines I am with the crowd that says it is unlikely. But regardless, we still need to just win this week and then take whatever comes of that situation.

i wonder how much of an impact would a victory over the griz have on our playoff chances now that they are #3 in the nation...
