EW gets the autodbid and the Griz get the at large. MSU out in the cold.

It would depend on what Weber does in Portland.

I guess that is a good point. If Weber beats PSU and we beat EW and beat the Griz, then I would say we 'might' be the #2 team from the Big Sky in the AT LARGE maybe if they take us. Big Sky should get a minimum of 2 this year though I think. They should REWARD conferences with a lot of TOP teams and the highest Gridiron Power Index of all the conferences.

If EWA loses to UC DAVIS would that not put them with to many loses to get in?

Wait a minute...if we beat EWU and the Griz, we win the conference outright and we may get a home game at that point. If we beat just EWU, we might be in. If we don't beat Eastern and beat the Griz, it would be hard for us to get in at all. So the easiest way is to win the next 2 and we're in as the Big Sky Champs....all by ourselves! :D

It won't matter as the conference champion gets an autobid regardless of their record. The record matters for at large bids.

While that is probably correct, there is an outside chance that a third team from the Big Sky could go depending on how everyone else in the nation finishes up. We would need a lot of help to be the third team.

We could be a top 4 seed if we beat both and host our first 2 round playoff games. We need to win this week and then let the chips fall at home. Our crowd is going to be ready. We need to beat EW and then we have to win 1 game at home to get the out right BSC Title and a chance to host minimum 2 playoff games (could be a Cat/Griz #2? :) ).

Another big factor is how many of those teams in front of us will win their conferences and get an automatic bid. Hampton is the only one that I know that has already clinched.

EWU losses, they're done. If the Cats lose, do they get in with a 7-4 record (providing they beat the Griz)? I know I wouldn't feel too secure about it.

Here's a thought:
I'm going to go ahead and assume that UM beats Sac State this weekend, in effect clinching at least at large bid. If the Griz go ahead and win the conference and the autobid, it's very plausible that the Big Sky only gets one team in as all the other teams will have at least 4 losses. Both MSU and EWU will have one loss to a I-A team. Thereby, making it imperative that the Cats come away with the dubya this weekend.

So, if the Cats win this weekend, but lose to the Griz, will they get in? Hmmmmm, time to ponder. 8)

I'll say this, if I were a Cat fan and the Cats didn't get in the playoff's and do some damage during Lulay's senior year, I'd be a little sour. :x

If MSU loses to EW and beats UM, then MSU gets in ahead of UM. Here's why, both have 7 wins vs. Div I, but since MSU beat UM, MSU gets in. EW wins autobid (Notice I didn't say MSU would get in, just that they'd get in before UM).

If MSU beats EW and loses to UM, them MSU gets an at-large at 7-4 because it played in the toughest conf. in league and played a tougher schedule than any other 7-4 team and many of the 8 win teams only have 7 Div. I wins.

Either way MSU should get in.

Your assuming that this is a perfect world. Yes both teams would have 7 wins & the Cats will have beaten the Griz. BUT!!! the committee would have no responsibility to take the Cats over the Griz. Don't forget attendance seems to mean a lot in I-AA world. Also the Griz have a much better national reputation as far as the playoffs go. Not too mention the fact that the committe would probably look at the Griz wins over Cal Poly & PSU very favorably. Not saying this is fair or even that I agree with it, but I think it is the case.

EWU doesn't get the autobid if Weber wins out.

Yea, but i guess if EWU does not make it with Meyer and Kimble they will have the same feeling. They have underachieved far more than the cats. Our only big negative this year is the loss at PSU. we had two chances to win that at the end even though our defense did not play well and could not get it done. History has shown it is tough to win all your road games in the Big Sky. This team should not be judged solely on a playoff run. The seniors have helped turn this program in the right direction.

Ok, Weber sucks. EWU, MSU, and UM all get in with home playoff games!

OLY, OLY, OLY
